Appreciate that! Been wanting to collaborate with Luke for sometime. Thanks for watching!
I know it must be thankless to get so few views, both you and Luke, but you guys keep plugging away putting out good content. I've been following Luke for some time now and you can see the maturity in his reviews after so many years at it. Good luck to you both!

I think you guys have a wonderful dynamic. Would love to see you both do an update of the Oscar race, either pre or post nominations (or both).

DiCaprio needs another Oscar nomination like a fish needs a bicycle. He’s one of those that get nominated every year for everything he does. I’m hoping for a lot of first time nominees.

DiCaprio has been snubbed half the time when he has Oscar buzz - Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, Revolutionary Road, J Edgar, Django Unchained, Don't Look Up. His performance in Killers of the Flower Moon is the type that won't be snubbed.

There is an interesting phenomenon where most often those most deserving of an award are those who need it the least (ie Cate Blanchett). Everyone who is considered a favorite is already respected, and those who could use a lift are generally snubbed.

@@thrawncaedusl717 Cate will definitely win at least 1 more Oscar. What happened last year giving Yeoh the Oscar over Yeoh was a major mess up from the Oacars' part but I hope that's not the norm. But I do feel this year Best Leading Actor and Actress could go to Leo and Emma on merit of their performance and box office hits!
I think Anatomy of a Fall missing International Feature helps it in some ways - they can't say it will just win International. I also have heard several people say Huller is giving the performance of the year in it.

Count me as one of those people...Huller is incredible
I'd really want Suzume to get in for animated feature but it came out so early in the year, I'm sure it'll get forgotten.
I’m just rooting for Oppenheimer to win big at the Oscars.

Has no one seen 'She Came to Me'? It has a really original script written by Rebecca Miller (Arthur Miller's daughter, who also directed) with great acting performances. I feel like Marisa Tomei is getting overlooked for her quirky, comedic supporting role in that. An argument could also be made for Anne Hathaway and Peter Dinklage as well, but Marisa deserves some attention for sure.
Wish is a hybrid of CG with watercolor aesthetic. It's basically Disney's loose attempt at doing the Spiderverse effect

I hope not. Past Lives deserves so much more than most are projecting it for; it should at least win Screenplay (I also think Barbie will ultimately be moved to Adapted, where it will lose to Poor Things).

Wga has officially ended and the new agreement has been signed. SAG after a is still in negotiations but it seems like the studios want the actors to return to shoot and promote their films as soon as possible cuz no actor promotion has badly hurt the box office of MANY recent films like the Creator unfortunately!
Ok , so I haven't seen " Poor Things " yet , but it seems to be that Emma Stone gives a very " Tour de Force " performance in that movie ! I can't wait to see it and I think she might get her second Oscar this year ...
The flip side of the coiin of Anatomy of a Fall not being selected for International means that it could potentially increase its chances in other categories becaiuse of branch members who want the film to get recognized somewhere for something.

You’re probably right Garney. I’m just super curious if Anatomy is going to be an industry movie or more beloved by critics. I wasn’t particularly BLOWN away by Anatomy myself. But you could be right. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Academy takes to it, but I equally wouldn’t be surprised if they overlook it as well. We’ll see. My instincts are likely wrong 😂
For Best Supporting Actor,ark Ruffalo:s role is the one most closely tied with Ketu. Ketu is the unusual role that sticks with you through thick and thin. William Dagoe as the creator is less so. Ketu is in charge of the wiring so not really the director creator which is Rahu which 5epres3nts the hardware. Wiring has a neutral energy on the creation.
I still don’t understand why KOTFM is so high on everyone’s editing list - it’s a great movie in just about every way, but editing feels like the one thing that lets it down. How many people walk out of it saying ‘it was an hour too long…..’
You guys dont wanna put 2 sandra huller movies in the top 10, why? Anatomy of a fall, and zone of interest. Both films can get in for best picture
I hope Past Lives gets a lot of noms
@RyanCasselman

Me too! It can happen. Best Picture and Original Screenplay feel like a sure thing. But has the potential to snag Actress, Director, maybe Actor, Supporting Actor, and Editing. I think Past Lives is stronger than some may think. Cheers!
Greta Lee:s performance is just Ike Paul Mescal in Afyersun. Very subtle. And there is a familiar tie. Paul Mescal with his daughter but searayed. Similarly with Greta Lee with her childhood sweetheart whom she got separated.
@poett8875
9 ай бұрын
The difference is Paul Mescal had nowhere near the amount of competition that Greta Lee does. In Mescals year the final two spots were basically up for grabs.
For director, I believed in Triet until Anatomy was not submitted for international; now I think Glazer probably takes her spot. For the last slot, I have Song over Payne (the top 3 seem to be a lock, but I wouldn’t hate seeing Scorsese miss to award some newer talent). It’s close, but ultimately Past Lives is still better reviewed and if Triet falls out the Academy is going to want to nominate a woman (which could serve as tie breaker but shouldn’t be necessary; imo Song should win from the films I’ve seen so far). Barbie is this year’s Top Gun Maverick. Popular with audiences, but not getting any non-craft wins and will miss several nominations that some think it will get.
why did everyone forget about Spiderverse?
@nikitamohan3390

It's winning Best Animated film everywhere like it's a lock win but it's a stretch for a best picture nom
'The Good Dinosaur' also was not nominated in Best Animated Feature.
For animated tmnt should win
Cinematography the academy branch prefers outside scenery so Zone of Interest had an edge over Saltburn. By the way Top Gun Maverick the flight scenes was shot Lin the studio so it was not nominated.

Last year's TGM and The Batman misses were crazy. This year, I'm thinking The Creator might be a potential nominee considering how creative they were with camera use and budget.
Guys, Where's the VFX, sound, score etc..?
My list looks more similar to Ryan's with Zone of Interest in there. I would just replace Past Lives with All of Us Strangers. Still waiting to see how much steam May December and Priscilla gain in the next couple months.
Luke you are right. It looks like Emma Stone has a karma that always compete with a foreign actress at her wings. But this year Emma would not win. Lily Gladstone a native American 2oilf break the effects of 6je seed of the karma.
Both are so hot and cute 🥺🥰
Surprised Annette Bening isn't on your Best Actress list.

@@RyanCasselman Umm why did you guys remove Margot Robbie from your Best actress predictions. The movie made nearly 1.5 billion dollars at the box office and I heard the Oscar screenings for Barbie were selling like hot cakes!
Just one observation. Courtroom dramas never win Best Picture since To Kill A Mockingbird in 1962 and that was also about a film on small town sentiments. Best Director courtroom dramas never win and even less in terms of nomination It is quite easy to direct a courtroom drama and most of the scenes are quite stylized. The Zone of Interest is something like The Tree of Life so it's possibility in Director or Picture nomination is higher.
'The Killer' for editing? From the bit that I watched (so boring I couldn't finish it), I saw very little editing at all. Strange pick. I'm guessing it picked up later on in the film but wow, that was a snooze--and I don't have a problem with slow movies but this one, ugh, and the voiceover, just....no.
Why is noone predicting Wonka for any Oscars? Just because it wasn't at any festivals??? What if it's really good and a massive hit? Barbie was alright but what if Wonka's a better blockbuster film?
Prediction in October???

2023 the digits add up to 7. which stands for Ketu or South Node in Vedic Astrology. Of all the Best Supporting Actresses that are talke about in this video, the only one role that has a DIRECT connection with Ketu is Jodie Foster:s toe. Ketu is about exhortation or encouragement, your UNUSUA FRIEND. Now Barbie the inanimate object that comes to ife is also Ketu but the supporting actress 8s not playing the doll. Margot Robbie is.

Ouch. Haha. He’s reallly likable in the Holdovers.
Paul zGiomsnni or Jeffrey Wright? Jeffrey Wright:d acting is more stylish and Paul Giomanni I'd more dowdy like Melisda McCarthy. And the boyers these days like roles that are a little bit street smart OR one who has some family connection and repentanve like Brendan Fraser last year. Oscars these days tend to make their own individualistic choices.
i don't think i am excited for Oscars next year 🙁 it's just a lot of the top movies is not something that i might like.

@@nikitamohan3390 heard a lot of good thing about Poor Thing and i do rooting for it to win best picture more than Oppenheimer.
Peter Drinklage musical the production design or costumes did not win anything. The movie production design isomething like Poor Things. The medieval costumes 8s similar to the 19th century formal costumes in Poor Things. I think Barbie would take the cake for Production Design. Poor Things with its change of costumes would take Costume Design.
Full character brought to life? Is that what you mean? Human development over a 2 hour period Then yeah, O hope Emma Stone can win. In real life she is very audacious always telling aAmdrew Garfield what to do No wonder they split.
