No offense, but having Eduardo Rodriguez to the Dodgers makes me question you completely. He declined a trade to them at the deadline. I doubt the Dodgers would go after him for that reason, and he clearly doesn't want to go there.

It's not that farfetched considering how he said he wanted to stay in Detroit to stay close to home and then declined his option at the end of the season. He just didn't want to switch teams with and uproot his family with no notice. That being said, I don't see him going to the Dodgers.

Right off the bat, I disagree with you. I don't think Shohei Ohtani will be a Met. The Mets may be able to give him the most money but I think the location will be the issue. Ohtani will follow suit with most Japanese players and want the West Coast. Ohtani may not like all the pressure he will get from New York fans as well, he is laid back.

@@RA-qf2th eh, I respectfully disagree with you on that. I’ve been following Nola closely for years now. I find the theory of Nola trending downward to be not very well thought out. The rule changes and pitch clock implementation handicapped Nola in 2023. By September he made some adjustments that made a difference. He was terrific between his September 19 start onward. His analytics are about as consistent as anybody’s. His command is borderline elite. Zero injuries. He’s going to have several great seasons ahead of him.

I think Yamamoto will come down to the Dodgers and Mets. Both teams are willing to pay him whatever he wants so it will just come down to East Coast or West Coast and Ohtani or Senga. Not sure how much winning matters to him. If it does matter that would be a big advantage for the Dodgers considering the Mets are still a couple years away.

Calling Severino a “steady presence in the rotation who eats a lot of innings” is certainly a choice… He’s thrown over 100 innings ONCE from 2019-2023. In that span he’s totaled 209.1 IP for an average of roughly 42 IP per season…

Honestly i would love to see Ohtani, Yamamoto, and Senga in the same rotation but that is a lot of money and the Mets are already way past the highest tear for penalties

I don't see Martinez going to the mariners. They're a very young team- I think the oldest player is 33. Unless they sign him as a deadline trade piece like Encarnacion and Bruce, I don't see them signing him.

The Mets will sign either or Yamamoto or Ohtani they will not be able to get both.. Steve Cohen can sign either or, but not both (regardless of how much money he has). you underestimate how much money he will shell out.
