Mad Dog has the worst takes lol as a Cubs fan Counsell is waaay better than Ross especially managing a bullpen, Ross cost us alot of games putting the wrong guys in at late innings that last month we blew our playoff lead.

Ya I like Ross, but to say Counsell is just a bit better is NUTS. Cubs win 4-7 games more if they had Counsell last year easy.

I'd consider Nola at 6/$150 and I still might be in on Ohtani, as he is going to help pay his own salary via marketing and increased attendance. But I agree on the other 4. Nola is never hurt and is an innings eater. Also, Kenney is dead on about Chris Young. When he was in Seattle, I remember an interview with their beat writer in which Young talked about his love of analytics for quite a while. He felt they helped lengthen his career.

12 years for Cody Bellinger is so far off. It's now the second time I've seen this prediction and it makes me wonder how out of touch with reality people are? This guy was hot garbage for three years in a row now theses clowns are talking 12 years at $264M after one bounce back season. No GM is gonna ride or die with Cody Bellinger for 12 years.

Hader is a reliever most last six years throwing their arms out if they have to take time off to win later it’s fine. Starters go five innings every 5 days and they are on the shelves for a month every season. In todays game, every team should have 2 closers. That’s 120 innings matching up lefty/righty.

I don't see Cashman as a HOF exec anymore honestly. I think as time has gone on, we realize just how much the Dynasty Yankees were built before he took over. He really is responsible for one WS appearance and win. And that was in George's last hurrah year, with the better Steinbrenner son in charge. They spent so much money that offseason buying tons of elite players and had just given ARod a massive extension. If any WS was ever bought, it was that one. He is washed up and terrible at player development and salary allocation. He has given tons of contracts out to players that didn't deserve them. He gets aircraft carriers, but they are almost always the wrong ones, expect for glaringly obvious moves like the best pitcher in baseball in Cole and the best hitter in baseball like Judge. A kindergartner could've told you those were the right moves. But Stanton instead of waiting for Harper - disaster. JD instead of Seager - incredible idiocy. And Rizzo has been great when healthy, but getting him over Freeman or Olson was just dumb.

The Rangers certainly use analytics, but in the end, Bochy manages the games based on his gut and experience. If he thinks the analytics are right, he'll follow it, but in the end, he is willing to follow his instincts instead. It's why he wins so much in the post-season. Playing in the World Series is more about knowing how to manage your men than following data.
