One of the 1st games I remember watching as a young kid was that Monday Night Baseball. Growing up in Toledo the Tigers and The Bird were popular. I saw Mark pitch a game during his comeback in the minors. Pawtucket against the Mud Hens. It was kind of sad because everyone wanted him to get that Magic back. 1976 was a great year though.

A big thing that people overlook is you have to know what kind of hitter you are. Most people, including the pros, aren't cut out to hit 40+ homers a year. If you're a power hitter, hit for power. If you excel at making contact and hitting into the gaps, do that.

I love it when the rubes chant "Beat LA". I think that "That's the best you can do?!" It means that the LA team in whatever sport, is doing well.

He also put up those numbers with some of the worst teams in MLB history. Meaning, he had no protection. Yet he still put up those numbers.

If they allow player that uses drugs, why not . As long as mattingly has the numbers, I don't see why not. Should also put Keith Hernandez in as well

Adding on to my previous comment, I agree that Utley should at least be on the ballot. I just feel like Jimmy Rollins deserves to be in the same conversation. He’s an MVP as well as champion. His average is 11 points below Utley but Rollins has more hits. Also, Rollins has more black type. He has a gold glove, silver slugger, multiple all star years and I add that he led the league in triples 4 different times. What about leading in PA’s, runs, and games played? You want a league leader in SB? He’s got too.

As a former fan, I've finally given up on the Rockies. The team should be sold and moved out of Colorado. It's become Impossible to continue to be a fan of a team that's been so horribly owned and developed. Bud Black has done his best, but the challenges have just been too overwhelming.

Two words, post season. One word. Clutch. Two woods bloody sock. Game 6 down 3-2. Greatest comeback in baseball history. In sports history! But this is baseball. They NEVER figure things out. Steroids, replay, Angel Hernandez? It's baseball. Stupid.
