As an old man of 66, the 4Runner is the only vehicle out there that hits the fun meter for me. Sure wish it got just a little better MPG. Thank you Toyota for making such a great vehicle.

The new one will get better MPG, and will be noisy and Revy and hunt up and down the gears to save you a dollar in gas if you have the financial means for a car with lousy gas mileage just do it

@@theone4042 Thanks, I almost have 1,000 miles on it. Not bad since I’ve had it since November 30.
I like the SR5 Premium trim the best. You can get a moonroof, and you don’t have to deal with the grey bumpers than come on the TRD off road and you don’t have to spend as much money. Any 4 wheel drive 4Runner is way more capable than anyone needs.

Great Suv. The only thing that’s slightly annoying is the turning radius, it’s wide.
Hi Ben, Great video! Thanks for speaking a little slower for us. Also, can you shift into 4 hi on the fly? Thanks again.
Watching this on the big screen 🙌
You can only remote start a vehicle so many times before you have to actually start it to get it running. My truck only remote starts 3 times before it stops working until I crank it with the key.
I just bought one yesterday!
I have a 22 SR5 premium and absolutely love it. I'm hoping to keep it for many years.
I have a 2022 in this trim and the black one you looked at with the gray middle and black outer softex has been the standard for a while I believe and it’s the one I have as well
The 3rd row seating in the SR5 Premium gives an additional 3 inch of leg room in the back seats where the higher modles do not. Also the 4WD dial is WAY cleaner and will age much better than the fake leather gear shift. And lastly I put a 3inch lift with 285 that sit at a -15 offset and I couldn't be happier. Building from the SR5 is the way to go. Only thing is I need to find a hood scoop solution. I may go carbon fiber

I’d rather have MTS, rear locker, and an actual shift lever for little bit more money. It sounds like you off road so it’s a really good deal to get all that with a factory warranty.
Hello my friend I love the sound of the Toyota 4Runner
Overlanding good sir 😏 Ben pretty awesome review of the perfect overlanding truck 🏁
I have been looking at these; started with the SR5 Premium (4WD) and then gravitated toward the TRD Off-Road Premium. Believe it's a ($2240) cost differential on the 2023s.
Your absolutely right. And if you want capability just throw on rear lockers….and if you want more…front lockers. You’ll still be bucks ahead.
Like the Review...but i think either the TDR off-road or off-road premium is the sweet spot.
@Ben Hardy: Nice review. I like the SR5 Premium, especially that interior. Cannot find any near me, must be low demand.
I wonder when Toyota will reveal the next gen 4runner. Hopefully it'll be longer so that having the 3rd row up is liveable.
I noticed that some SR5 Premium doesn't have a front camera. Does anyone know why?
It would be fun to hear their answer when you ask if your could drive it.
Beautiful
I still like this 4Runner. It’s my dream truck . I just want to get a rwd.
No mention of the heated steering wheel which is a first for the 4Runner for 2023 and you can see it under the start button.

I like that the 4Runner is still relatively basic compared to all of Toyota's other SUVs. I hope they leave it that way. The 4Runner has always been more of a robust vehicle, and so they should keep the current powertrain and not add too much more tech. We still need some vehicles that use tried and true tech.
@devildog5354

My guess is there will be a new powertrain on the upcoming next gen. I would go for the 4.0L/5 speed while it's still available if that's your preference...

Just a shame that for all the years this generation 4Runner was being manufactured, Toyota never tried to improve the HP and MPG. We all know it doesn’t get 19 MPG on the highway. My guess it’s more like 17. And city driving is probably around 15. I gave the 22 model a hard look when I was in the market for an SUV. Just couldn’t get past those two negatives.
