This video contains product placement for Bluegrass & MET. We’ve got two of the latest and fastest downhill bikes, the Specialized Demo Race and the Trek Session nine X01, and today we're putting them head to head to see which is the best downhill bike in 2021.
Modern enduro bikes might be more capable than the downhill bikes of old, but the continued development in downhill has seen them become even more focused.
For pure, no holds barred, adrenalin-fuelled, flat-out action, NOTHING can hold a candle to the mighty downhill bike.
The Trek Session is an iconic gravity bike built for high-speed control and big mountain fun on downhill courses and bike parks. With a new high pivot suspension design, 200mm travel front and back, and new reach sizing, the Session is a truly fast and fun bike.
The Specialized Demo is all about speed. It comes with a mullet set up, 200mm of travel front and back, and a tough aluminium frame. It's been tested by World Champ Loic Bruni, so you can expect great things.

Downhill bikes are the reason we have such good enduro and trail bikes

I got my first do bike from Facebook for 900
Some people like kale salad but I prefer kale trasings 😉
the prices though. I'm genuinely curious how much of these do they actually sell.

Thank you for putting out DH content. I have a Demo and I agree that the tires are trash(The new ones might be better, idk yet). It would have been interesting if you tested the Demo as a full 29er also to be more fair in the comparison. Cheers!

To be fair, it was a comparison of stock bikes bar the change of tyres.
I bought the specialized after this and many other videos. I'm happy with my choice but almost the same week a friend bought the trek with a mullet setup and I think it radically changed the bike character. It felt so playful and fun especially on corners, I don't know what happened but I felt faster than the specialized. But I think they're both great allrounder

Great review. You could swap the rear wheel next time, so the bikes have the same diameter wheels, for the next review, and have a more level playing field.

Haven't ridden either of them, but the Specialized looks much cooler.

Prefer aluminum frame all day especially for dh so true tho I don't even have a dh bike anymore I love my nuckproof mega so go for local pedaling around and bike parks

I don't think there is such a thing as kale tracing tyres although I know what you mean 😂
£6-7k for an alloy bike, I pity the next generation of kids wanting to get into the sport

Down hill bikes don't tend to have them due to the fact they are designed for going as fast as possible down hill. Lots of trail bikes have them and lots more gear ratios to help the rider get around. Raise the post for pedaling, drop the post for going down hill.

Huh, what do you know. They both look like a trek session.
You can put a motocross bike in neutral, shutoff the engine, beat the bicycle to the bottom, save $1000, and motor home.
7k for an 17kg aluminium bike... No thanks I can buy a 2021 Honda Grom for £3500. These prices are crazy

You can also buy a bike from a big box retailer for a couple hundred bucks. But that’s not relevant. No one is cross-shopping these bikes and a Grom.

Trek looks awesome! Specialized looks less awesome, especially that rear shock placement! And it always was,and probably will be,a overpriced elitist brand! 😊

Reviews where they just use random adjectives to compliment the product aren't very useful. It's all subjective to the rider and you don't pass on any real information to the viewer. I learned next to nothing from this
It’s really not so much trek vs. specialized anymore. The battle of kings is more Santa Cruz and Specialized.

Trek stole the design from the GT fury , they stole the SWAT box and stole Dave Weagle’s split pivot design. Trek is trash 🗑.

Yes because the fact is Trek is better/superior than both and it doesn't matter if you're a brand hater cause that's literally nonsense hating something that didn't even hurt you.
