I got lucky with my hellcat. With my 20k down payment I qualified for 0.8% for 72 months. Payments 807 a month. The best part is I paid my interest with my first payment now I just watch the balance go down 807 every month.

I agree with your approach and I appreciate your response from my last comment. I'm old too, mid 40's. Life is simple, not married, no children, house almost paid for and I make decent money. I go with the "have enough to pay it off just in case" approach. Right now my widebody Scatpack is worth more than what I owe, it's a base model none of the niceties. $51000 borrowed for 72 months and no money down, my payments are just $700 a month. I can sell some other toys or vehicles and pay it off. Anyone trying to buy a toy, watch your debt to income ratio. Paying a low balance credit card off will work wonders. And have multiple vehicles so when you add a Hellcat or Scatpack to your insurance you can designate it for pleasure/leisure. On 3 vehicles with full coverage I pay a little over $650 every 6 months but that's here on the east coast. If you can afford it I say do it. I drive mine like a grumpy old man...with a smile on his face.

Everything you said makes sense 100%. I also tell people go for a cheaper price on the actual car than the rate. You can always refinance the rate down. Price of the car will never change. I'd rather pay 6% 7% and get the car $10k or so cheaper with the dealership, then refinance to 2% later with my CU.

I sold my 2020 Challenger Scat Pack with 21,000 miles for exactly what I paid for it out the door 2 years ago and netted 10K in equity from the sale. I picked up a new 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance for new content for $ 67,990 including tax, title license, etc. My credit union gave me 3.49% APR on a 84 month loan and I put 3K down while have two auto loans through them (the Chally was being paid off with 10 days so they were lienient on assuming only two auto laons). Try NuVision Credit Union out of Huntington Beach for new and used auto loans. The lowest APRs in the credit union business. Love the breakdown on the jailbreak and cant wait to line up next to it for some comparisons. 🤘🤘🤘

Common sense has got to have a place regarding these cars. You talk a lot of sense, and it’s different for everyone. The Charger platform is so cool and practical that you can enjoy it in different financial situations. I think the Scatpack it’s the Sweet spot where you can get excitement without breaking the bank, and in my case, the Daytona 5.7 L has been just right using it as a daily driver or as a weekend car. And it always gets me anywhere ON Time, so it’s been fun and fast enough. I’m checking for the possibility of a Scatpack Manual Challenger for about the same payment adding 6 months to the debt. But I just can’t renounce to the versatility and how comfy my Daytona is just yet. So I’m waiting for a Daytona 392. 🙏🏾🙏🏾😎⚓️

Should i wait a while longer before i open my hellcat up? I just don’t want to blow my engine.

Ofc the car was gone after it sat there almost a year xd

GM offered the Tremec 6 speed on its short-lived Pontiac G8 and Chevy SS 4-door RWD's. It would have been great for Dodge to offer a manual on its muscle Chargers! Especially the Scat Pack. 4 doors, the right number of pedals, and 6 gears! Plus, it's an anti-theft device.

I have a dumb question. But I just got good credit and I have never done what I'm about to ask. I've been playing in a car for about almost a year in a half. Never missed a payment. I gave 7 grand down on a 25 thousand dollar car. They want me to up grade but I was gonna pay it off. So say I have 10 grand 15 grand into this car already. And I switch. Do I just lose the 15 grand? Do I lose a percentage? Does it get transferred over? I'm not trying to get a hellcat and I have about 10 grand saved in the bank. And I'm not trying to get a hellcat. Just a GSF. I think they are around 50 to 60 grand.

Correct about the auto loan fallacy. I had two 2016 hellcats that I bought new and paid off in about 2.5 years. I just kept sending extra principal payments in. fast forward to 2021 and I was able to just take those two cars and trade them evenly across a table for 2021 Trx highly optioned which I love and have a clean title in hand. Now here’s some perspective: two years ago I bought 30 acres of land for 85,000 with 15,000 down my payments are under 500 monthly. I throw extra principal payments at that as well. That land allows me to have friends over, hunt, shoot guns, hike, four wheel and all of that. Then this stupid real estate boom hit and I cannot even imagine trying to get that land now. I don’t miss my hellcats because they have become iconic with the thug culture and I have a pretty fast truck that can climb the hills at my property and take my fiancé and the dogs to the vet. I guess it all comes down to priorities, no? $100,000 is indeed very much money. I’m professional deep in to six figures and I just wince and cringe when I see the price of these Mopar‘s. Maybe I’ll get a challenger hellcat of some form again, maybe not. I can tell you that having had at least one hellcat since 2015, they are not particularly plush or as fast as one would think once you get used to them. that especially goes for this new EV world we are in. I’m going to hold my cards and wait and see what’s happening as Dodge releases more stuff.🤔

With my cars I would finance with navy federal for 96th months just to get the monthly note low. For my scat it was 492 a month but I paid 600. So it was like I was paying on the car for 72 months but I wasn’t held to that 600 dollar quote if anything happened

I’ve got like 30K I can put down cash, and I wanna get a 23 redeye challenger widebody, I’d like a 20-50K loan for business (that being for the car) do you think the bank would loan me that with a 716 credit score? (I’m also 19)
