I purchased the 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited Nocturnal Black, I drove down to see my Daughter who lives in Ocoee, FL from Chili, NY it cost me one way $65.00 with a half a tank left. My wife wanted to upgrade her 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid SEL Portofino Grey to a 2022 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited Calypso Red, so I bought her one for her Anniversary present. Within seven weeks I upgraded to a new 2022 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited Nocturnal Black because of the upgrades they made over my 2021. We have owned five Hyundai's to date and are very happy with these vehicles, really impressive cars, that’s my opinion and we have no regrets.

Is the grill in the Sonata Hybrid a little bit smaller (meaning less wide) than in the regular Sonata?

I got a limited one and it’s getting an average of 55 mpg

i have sel and get 56 mpg in town. i never leave town.

Great review! Side note for those paddle shifters though. I could be wrong but I don't think those are meant for gear shifting. I think they control regen braking.

Other Hybrids like the Accord have regen paddle shifters, but in the Sonata Hybrid they actually are meant for gear shifting. Its feels cool to change gears while in EV mode too

The paddle shifters on the Sonata (Hybrid and non-hybrid, alike) are necessitated by the push button console shifter. Just as they are in the Palisade but not in the Telluride. Without the paddles there would be no way to manually select a particular gear in vehicles that lack a traditional shift lever.

Just saw your review of the 2021 Santa Fe posted on YT in the "Best Songs" channel. Are you being ripped off or reposting to make it look 'new'?

I realize that the hybrid is more heavy than a gas model but if I drive for long distances with full occupancy how will this affect the tires, shocks and suspension components and does hyundai offer a suspension up grade?

i wonder why elantra hybrid got dct transmission and higher model car got automatic... the next question is what happens to solar roof when it got damage from some weather conditions such as hail damage..

Got it in Hampton Grey most I've got is 64mpg average has been 57mpg but only 49 in cold weather changer oil to mobile to quaker maybe thats why no idea

No charging needed. It is not a plug in. It regenerates battery from braking. You never need to worry about plugging it in.

Why no 8 speed transmission?

Thoughts on this over the Honda Insight?

Yes I would... both are nice tho but Sonata gives you a better warranty, 3yrs free maintenance and better tech 👍

Unheated mirrors are unforgivable in this day and age. You can take away the rear windshield wiper instead.
