Hi everybody, I’ve had a couple of litre Bike experiences and still have a YZF 750R. My Brother just bought a 2013 RSV4 I’ve only just about to take the RS660 for its first Service after running it in. I can honestly say the Geometry and Set up strait out the Shop has enabled me to have a experience like no other bike I’ve owned. Great low end Grunt, short shifting whilst still running it in. The most Fun Bike I’ve ridden for the Road anyway, A full experience of using all the Gears, Quick shifting up and down is great, Carnt wait to get it back from first Service and open it up, Obviously the Litre Bikes are much faster on long straits, but around corners and twisting country roads, This is much lighter and pulls out of corners like nothing else in its class. No high revs required. It is as good as all the reveiws But I would say that having bought one.... Seriously Fun !!!

Don't know if you already know Bill but R+G (rg-racing .com) in the uk are doing a boot guard kit, amongst other things for the RS to stop scratching the swing arm.

Did the velocity stacks without a pipe mess up the bottom end drive? Would the filter alone be a better way to go without a pipe?

@Cali Moto TV , would you suggest I sell my MT09 for this less horsepower RS660? It looks to me you enjoy RS660 more than on your liter bikes. Great vid!

I have the MT09 and properly test drove the RS 660, they are completely different machines. The RS is definitely under powered compared but thats the only negative. The RS has way better suspension, superior brake system, lots of tech (though most if it would not be needed for a 100hp bike) and a more rigid chassis. Personally after the test drive and going back to the MT09, I couldn't trade for it. For me the MT09 is so brutal that going down to the RS would be too much of a downgrade. Said that, I'm still considering as a second bike! At the end of the day, its race ergonomics and parallel twin are a killer combination for street use. Also the RS has noticeably lower RPM limit compared to the MT09. The RS feels like a liter bike that that cuts its revs halfway through each gear, its astonishing quick for it's displacement. In conclusion, for me the MT09 can give way more fun experience (acceleration, wheelies, sound) while the RS although underpowered will give way more refined experience.

@@CaliMotoTV Cool, and definitely looking forward to the exhaust since that should be a pretty major one. That SC Project looks much better on the bike than the Akrapovic, but sadly not street legal (here in Sweden).

  • @CyberGasty

Velocity stacks might be justified only and only if you're gonna make it dedicated track bike. Otherwise, for street and occasional track, stock is the best option.

@@CaliMotoTV "Pimp my bike" is legitimate, and I even like it in terms of looks, but in terms of performance to put something that will not make your bike better for the street, but worse for street riding is an overkill.

Hi Dean fellow Englishmen here . What’s your overall opinion of the bike mate ? I am going to book a test ride soon but just wanted to get your opinion. I have owned a few litre bikes - rsv4 , blade, ninja etc but now have an XSR700 which I enjoy more as can use it all on the road . Love the rs660 looks but wondering if worth pulling the trigger on one . Cheers Rich
