    My suggestion it to get black perforated vinyl for the window. NO ONE will be able to see ANYTHINGGGG 👍 Getting a 2021 in 6weeks to do a conversion and live in it full time 😁

    That van has the factory optional swivel seats. They have a lot of adjustment. Though no power. Those are a $595 option each. Those are the extended power door mirrors. An option. They stick out further from the doors. Better for trailer towing. The base equipment is a non power mirror. They also offer a power mirror option with power folding selection. You can also get an optional drivers side sliding door. You can get side door windows, or full window package on the 159 inch and 159 inch extended. Sales wise, the 159 inch van is a big seller. The 159 inch extended is also quite popular. These vans are not canyon carver sports vans. The power is adequate for most buyers and users. That motor is a high winder. It spins to 6400 rpm before fuel shut off. So it can be quite spirited if you put your foot deep into the power peddle. Depending on model and configuration, payloads range from about 3700 to 4300 pounds. Tow ratings for trailers up to about 6800 pounds. If you want a sports car of these vans, your looking at either the big v8 Chevy/gmc or the ford transit 3.5 ecoboost versions, plus the Nissan NV has a honking v8 option. The van you drove was ordered as an RV conversion package spec. $48,000 is mid upper spec price range configuration for a 3500 high roof extended. The 159 inch wheel base comes only in high roof version. The 118 inch low roof is the most maneuverable and sporty driving of the bunch because it’s the smallest and lightest. The 136 inch wheel base is the middle of the pack version. Put 1000 to 2000 pounds in that 3500 extended you drove and it’s ride and feel will improve substantially.

    thanks for the review, just a little tip, a lot of people want to use these for van conversions, it makes it difficult to see things when you're constantly moving/swinging the camera around. Pick a spot and hold it stationary for a short length of time while you're talking.

    a couple of things.... be aware that both front windows (pass & driv) DO NOT ROLL down all the way. You like putting your arm on the window sill on a warm day, well you'll be dealing with 3-4 inches of glass cutting off your blood supply. Also, the reviewer failed to mention thereis a second smaller glove box up on the dash on the passenger side, big enough for the owners manuals and papers

    Anyone know what type of Diesel engine may be available in these vans? I would like to think that I could get a Cummins 6.7 or a QSB under the hood powering this rig. It would also be awesome if it offered a 4x4 package. I would definitely put a set of wider and taller (without needing a lift). Also does anyone know if you can park an ATV or a snowmobile in the back of one of these?

    3.6 engine is so weak for this van. Where is 3.0 turbo diesel engine? I have 2015 promaster 3.0 Diesel engine with 450K mi on it and it’s still running and I love it. Why? Why? They stoped give us this option.? Wanna get new one but hate this 3.6 weak engine. Give us back 3.0 turbo diesel.

  • @americanrambler4972

    @americanrambler4972

    Almost nobody bought the diesel in the US. Plus the emissions gear and automated manual shift transmission quickly earned a poor reputation for service and reliability. The 3.0 diesel was a inline 4 cylinder, not the v6 found in the 1500 pickup. And the added purchase cost did not help.

    Ram missed the mark by not migrating the new LCD/media tech in their trucks over to their cargo vans. At least Ford updated to a decent screen recently. Prior to that, the Transit's media was straight out of the 80s. I drive a Promaster 2014 van and it's media is decent for six years ago. The Sprinter's media is the best currently out of the lot. Done a lot of comparing and would say the best overall current cargo van is the 2020+ Ford Crew AWD Transit. A lot of van for around $51k. The Sprinter's expensive service costs and limited places to acquire service are its biggest negatives.

    Most Promasters are the pentastar gas(petrol) v6. All are automatics. No manual is offered. The diesels cost more, and are equipped with the automated 6 speed manual transmission. Many people stay away from those because of the troublesome DPF and DEF emissions systems. They have a poor reputation for reliability and dealer repair support. Plus they are a lot slower accelerating than the gas engine vans, even though they do get noticeably better fuel economy.

    MisterTwister You are correct. The diesel appears to be no longer available. I do not know specifically when they were discontinued. We currently have some used Promaster diesel vans available in the local market. I would not consider one because I do not like the automated 6 speed manual automatic transmission they use. It’s slow shifting, has no park position and it uses a clutch instead of a torque converter. (A manual shift 3 peddle transmission has never been offered on a US spec Promaster.)

And the 2.3 is enough for this kinda payload. I've driven one myself and they go pretty good. But they are almost all manual trans. BTW they are used for package delivery. I drive usually a MB Sprinter that dry empty all ready weights 3000kg (big Cooller Box). It has a 2.1 cdi (om 651) with about 160 hp. And it's pretty quick for its size.

    You forgot to show the top top dashboard glove compartment. And you didn’t mention any of the suspension and brakes and control arm and sway bar upgrades for the 2500 & 3500 starting in 2019. You didn’t mention the extra payload, or towing capacity either.. and you didn’t mention the transmission grade braking. I stopped watching halfway through, you may have missed a lot more stuff but I don’t know. You’re welcome ;-)

    What are you in such a hurry that you are trying to cover everything so fast? Are you hoping someone will buy it because of your video? Do it over or learn how to present the van in better light and maybe the dealership might even throw you a bone.
