If anyone ask me choose one bike among em, undoubtedly I would go for the monster. And Juliane I love you, mostly the part that you've got your passion that suits you to the core. Keep it up. :)

    Your right with quick shifter . I only use up DQS prefer blipping throttle myself for downshifts. Only annoyance I've noticed is occasionally false neutral between 4th and 5th. Apart from that I love my 1200S

    I have the 2017 model which is the first iteration of this current design and I share your assessment of it. It's fantastic across most ways you could measure a bike. I'm 53, which makes a full-tuck super bike just kind of a pain (literally) for me, for more than a short ride, and the Monster 1200S lets me have most of the power and maneuverability of a sport bike without the super aggressive riding position. I've never owned a bike with a quick shifter before, so I can't say how this compares to other bikes. Truth be told, I don't depend on the quick shifter much since I'm so used to doing the clutch work manually. But yeah, excellent bike overall - thanks for the review!

    Hi Juliane Nice review thanks! I've got the 1200R in black with some nice red CNC aluminium parts. I find it a really easy bike to ride, great through the corners, and overtakes are effortless. I had a major heart incident a year ago so needed to downsize from my R1200RT, Monster has been perfect. So much lighter. I've reviewed it on my own channel together with a number of mods for a satnav, USB port and some Evotech stuff too. I did 220 miles through rural UK a couple of days ago, a great day out. Ride safe.

    3 жыл бұрын

    Well, completely different. I own a M821 and it's a great bike, but compared to the 1200 you will find that has much more power. Both are similar when riding, but you have to focus too much in my opinion on the steering bar in order to get the bike into corners. That's quite similar in the 1200 due to the position. Both are fantastic bikes, don't get me wrong, but seriously other Japanese bikes with less effort are much more rideable. It's part of owning a Ducati I guess, you have to be better on your riding and positioning

  • @richardcollins586

    @richardcollins586

    3 жыл бұрын

    It’s a great first bike, had mine 2.5 years now. I passed my full test on an MT-07 and wanted something a little different. I wanted something forgiving and the 797 is very linear on the throttle, the power comes in gradually with no surges. I had mine with 350 miles on the clock and finding neutral was annoying up to about 1200 miles. The turning circle isn’t great. No fuel gauge, just a low fuel warning light and no gear position indicator, so basic in that respect. Brakes are very good being Brembo-especially the front, quite strong. With only about 75-78bhp, it’s enough power for me. It’s a quality bike, finished really well and I love adding a few accessories to the bike, like Rizoma for Ducati, which is lot to choose from. Hope that helps.

    @@socratessocratous3864 i know plenty of owners who would strongly disagree. The 1200 is renowned to hit false neutral every time they ride. All the above owners also have their bikes serviced at Ducati Dealers too who cannot claim its a gearbox or oil issue. Some advise better gear changing. I personal pal of mine has a 1200 and when he gear shifts...a minute or 2 later that gear pops out into neutral. I've test rode the 1200s and 1200r straight out of a Ducati dealers and on both bikes i hit false neutral many times. Not a great bike at all This gal needs to do her homework.
