2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible | Could It Be Too Good?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

As Chevy has flat-out stated; we’ve taken the front-engine Corvette as far as it could go. The much rumored and highly anticipated mid-engine Corvette is finally here further cementing its place as the attainable exotic.

I don’t know who started this narrative that this car was driven off of a dealer lot brand new. This is a press car that already had the proper break-in miles. C’mon!

Clear and concise review of this beast, with a really refreshing method of delivery of your reviews as always, with gorgeous shots of the scenery and the Vette. As a guy whose mom raced Corvettes in the National Corvette Club and placed every time while even racing pregnant with me, I’ve always been enamored with them since I was a toddler 40 years ago - the evolution of Zora’s long-awaited epiphany coming to fruition is nothing short of amazing. I live a state over from the plant and every single time I see one, I nearly wreck rubbernecking. I’m just so truly *proud* of Chevy for it. 🔥 I’m currently shopping the Trackhawk and Hellcat variants but the Vette now has my attention.

When I see comments like this, I have to wonder what age group are the people making those comments in. And the best colors?! Really?! That blue is unexciting for what a bright color should be. This is a stunning blue: www.kamikaze-usa.com/gallery/acura-nsx-blue/ This car is just not sexy. Great pricing and great looking interior (though the interior has already proven to not be as high-quality as suggested, based on some owners complaints). The front shark-look is not very attractive and the rear is just too busy, a mix of various styles, mixed with Camero styling and ultimately pretty ugly.

I picked up my HTC on Monday, loved the manual settings but agreed with your comments on the “docile” nature, until I played with the settings and found 2 that make it super involved in the auto settings. It made a big difference in the fun while in auto. My wife who is usually very critical of passenger interior space loves her cocoon and has only praised the passenger side space. As for your comments on the ride, I opted for the non-z51 as it will not be tracked ( I have a race car) and everything you said on how well I’d rides is also true with the base suspension. This is my first American car, I am a convert from Porsche and BMW, and really impressed with this “base” C8.

In a time of koenisegg, Shelby, Bugatti... or even a Tesla, the future smooth beauty isn’t there?! I had a ‘17 Camaro SS, there were aftermarket tail lights I could get for it... & this vett totally copied that design? Not original. Well, still neat to see American Mid engine! For me, being able to look at that engine through the window is one of the awesome cool parts of the car. I just really like it. Having initially ordered a convertible that I never received and wanting a coupe rather than the convertible and its extra weight, motors and complexity, etc. all added up to my desire for a C8 Coupe. I live in So.Cal., so I don't have to worry much about rain at all and certainly not sudden showers. With the good weather, I can take the roof off, if I really want to. There is no way that this car is, "too good.? And don't worry about the passenger. If the driver is not careful, the passenger can open the glove box and pull out the chip and the driver will lose his camera and thus not be able to see where he or she's driven. That new red tintcoat means that you must now buy a C8 for your wife or girl friend. Less time for driving and more time for working O.T. Don't worry about being, "age 48, Steve. Mine now has Lambo doors and I can get in and out without any particular problem at all. Extra 3 grand is well-worth it, if you have it in the coin purse. AF

I watched a few videos of how water "runs" into the engine bay via air vents and openings that expel heat on the coupe. I couldn't believe the amount of water spots after it dried. Particularly inside the window cover and the window between the engine and cockpit.. Also, I talked to a coupe owner at Road Atlanta last week and asked him his biggest complaint. His response was, dirty engine bay after a road trip and water spots after a rain or wash. He said cleaning the engine bay or wiping it down after washing isn't fun. I switched my order to a convertible. By eliminating the carbon fiber appearance package and other options related to the engine bay, it almost offsets the extra cost of a vert and I'll always have the total cubic feet available in the rear trunk by not having to stow the removable roof.

Steve, just wait till we get our hands on the Z06 with flatplane crank, Z07 package, CF rims & CF brakes! My only issue is Coupe or HTC. Did the back window of the HTC help mitigate the noise from the wind & buffeting? Not having to stow the roof panel is definitely nice & I would use it more than manually removing it. 1 I'm lazy at times or in a hurry. 2 my back issue may play a part. 3 that engine DESERVES TO BE SEEN! such a difficult question to answer. I have a Trackhawk after owning a BMW and my wife has an Audi and although the performance and features are incredible there are a lot cheap cost cutting measures and that’s after having to deeply discount them to get people and me to want to buy one. Bottom line there are noticeable compromises of premium materials that so called premium brands don’t skimp on so it still stands that get what you pay for. What the Corvette does is take advantage of the decreasing costs of technology to present the sub-$100k demographic a super car experience. This is what keeps the higher priced performance vehicle manufacturers honest and competitive and pushes innovation. I’m sure Ferrari was humbled by having to use Chevy invented and made mag ride shocks in their cars.
