This is the most honest review yet. Everybody seems to have so much shit to talk about Mitsubishi, but they only got rid of the evo because you cheap bastards weren't buying them brand new! Their cars/trucks have always been solid and reliable. This crossover is no different. Granted they shouldn't have used the legendary eclipse name, but it's a very well built SUV.

db60615 But only reason why no one was buying brand new, is because they switched automatic only (2015) and kept the same design for way too long. They could have created a new generation that appealed to the always changing car demand

These cars are incredibly gutless. Its painfully slow. To the point people blow the horn at you during a green light because it won't accelerate. Its also but ass ugly and third taking the eclipse name and slapping it on a terrible SUV pretty much shit on every thing good about the brand.

It's not because we weren't buying new one it's because they were modding the shit out first the eclipses 4g63s and then evos breaking it and then we're suing Mitsubishi for not fixing them. And these same guys are typing comments like this eclipse cross is is a dis grace and that grace. These self loathing folks cannot just say what's true.

I'm pretty sure everyone's obsession with crossovers is the ride height. For some reason for a lot of people sitting higher is more comfortable. Something about being able to look down on the road. I mean look at something as small as the Ford ecosport, it may as well be a car, there's sedans with more interior space and larger trunks. The entire purpose is ride height.

Yes, Mitsubishi should bring back the 3000 GT, except that it would probably be a 3 row SUV now. This doesn't look like a bad car for somebody looking for this kind of car. I have a problem with calling it an Eclipse. This current trend of giving boring cars the same names as exciting models from the past has to stop. It doesn't make the new car (a 150hp tall hatchback that doesn't handle or accelerate) exciting. It puts a stain on the memory of an exciting car from the past (an AWD sports car with 200+ stock horsepower - a remarkable number I the 90s.) Now, let's all go watch Brian O'Connor ripping around in the original Eclipse in the original Fast and Furious and remember what an Eclipse was, not what it's become.

Mitsubishi is actually earning from other industry products. Their vehicles are selling more in North America, Europe, and especially in Asia markets. Their profits increase 36% already this year already, selling vehicle only. They doing quite well, than some car brands, like GM right now. They closed down most of their plants and cutting off 6 brands, including Buick and Cadillac etc.

I'mm positive everyone's obsession with crossovers is the ride height. For some reason for a lot of people sitting higher is more comfortable. Something about being able to look down on the road. I mean look at something as small as the Ford ecosport, it may as well be a car, there's sedans with more interior space and larger trunks. The entire purpose is ride height.

I still drive my 1998 Mitsu 3000GT and have been waiting for Mitsu to make another sportscar since I love my car! Very depressed when I went to car show a couple years back and found out that Mitsu squashed the new 3000 project. My car is FWD and great in winter and fast (at higher speeds) she’s a heavy car but not all plasticy like vehicles today. At least if I could have an option like an Evo without havin to buy an older one 😭

I had a souped up '98 Eclipse back in 2000. 😎 Was just thinking about seeing if they make new Eclipses, for a possible purchase next year? I see this is what they call an Eclipse now? 😲😨 Think I'll just look at buying a '98 again! 😮

Unfortunately, they aren’t in the best financial situation, and they need to do what they can to make a profit. They know that crossovers are hot today, so they make that to survive. They aren’t really in a situation to make a car for the sake of keeping it alive. As incredible as it would be if they made the real eclipse still, it’s just not viable for them

@House xd i'm talking about comfort and quality of interior materials . previous models were awful ! and by the way cvt isnt so bad .. if you use it like normal person it will run at lesat 200k km , and if you whant old school auto - buy 3.0 gt version...it comes whith automatic transmision. i was a huge fan of old Mitsubishi Transmissions befour i tried CVT ..its realy good for just drive around town... im personaly prefere 4g64. i wish they took this enging , added chaine and new intake . i bet with new features it could give 180 hp at least . you dont even need turbo for family suv. in 4g63 and 4g64 i realy hated timing belt - cosed a lot of problems in previous cars !!!

Mitsubishi had something amazing in the Evo and would've done really well if they would've made every Lancer an AWD to compete with Subaru. If the Eclipse would've had a serious engine and RWD, I would've wanted one.

Please do more research, as Mitsubishi moved away from the DCT for a reason. The Evo X MR and Lancer Ralliart both used the DCT, and it was very unreliable. Getrag's DCT was a nightmare (shift fork & magnet issues, slipping clutches, etc etc etc). Countless issues with that transmission, which is why Mitsubishi doesn't use it anymore.

I'm not a fan. My wife has a Montero with over 200,000 miles and we were looking to get another Mitsubishi as a replacement but dang I am not impressed with anything they make currently. The mirage maybe at least it doesn't have a cvt.
