    It was so funny when you mentioned the echoes when the T6 overtook as I have a Caravelle with voice accentuator and it echoes weirdly too even when you think it is off! It is quite off-putting. I love the rear end of this. Makes it much more interesting to look at than all the VW clones and the Renault/ Nissan clones! They all look so much the same. I like the looks. Not sure about the gearboxes though.

    Maybe you can hang something small like a toy or an air freshener from the interior rear view mirror so we can see/feel (if I can say so) the tilting of the cars and the g-forces.

    You could see the suspension effect, through the camera shake. Got the impression of a bit of tin can acoustics, plus there seemed to be a lot rattle, which can only imagine would get worse over time. Saw one in a showroom, though the styling was bit hit and miss, personally wouldn't put me off, though cannot put my finger on it the interior looked a little thrown together, not in the quality of material, just final touches. Yet another good review Thomas, vielen dank.

    Thank you Thomas for another detailed review. I have the Outlander 2016 and most of the weak things in the Eclipse you mentioned in this review surprised me because I thought by this time, they should have fixed them... For instance the turning indicator lever is indeed cheap and in my 2016 Outlander you feel exactly what you described, as if we broke the lever all together... The suspension is stiff too and the worst thing in my Outlander is the driving sensation that is indeed weak. Handling is not great at all with the artificial steering that lacks the linearity and feel. It does not project stability and safe feeling on high speed as you said. Not well tuned at all like for example the Subarus that are way better in terms of handling... And when I took the Outlander off road on some moderate unpaved trails, the SUV does not give the sensation of a solid and composed one at all... Feels as if it is going to lose a part or two. Anyways, my Outlander is a great deal for a family and has a good AWD system for our Canadian winter but I am surprised to see Mitsubishi could not finetune these frustrating weak things yet. Cheers

    I like the design,even the back. Mitsubishi is famous for handling lovers. I'm surprise that Thomas is not happy with Eclipse X' suspension. In Thailand Pajero Sport and Lancer EX have a good handling and comfortable suspension. I hope Eclipse X that will come to Thailand next year will have a good suspension.I also hate the gear lever and touch pad.

    Not a fan of the split rear window at all and seems like they have some quality issues to work out. This is not a vehicle for me. However, one good thing about Mitsubishi which seems better than most, at least here in Canada is the warranty. They come with a standard 5-year/100,000 km warranty, 10-year/160,000 km powertrain warranty, 5-year/100,000 km accessory warranty and 5-year/Unlimited km Roadside Assistance. Thanks for another great unbiased review Thomas.

    I absolutely love Mitsubishi, but I dont know why on earth they used the iconic Eclipse name for this SUV! This could've easily been the redesign for the Outlander sport, and it would've sold like hotcakes. It's really a nice suv, and the front design is superb! I just think people hate this vehicle because it's the furthest thing from the Eclipse that they've known to love.

    Hey Thomas, great review. I am complete anti-fan of the name first of all, of the back window split (bottom part will get dirty and with no way of cleaning it with a wiper you will have reduced visibility) and of the shiny black plastics. I like Thomas's driving lounge where there is a fixed camera looking forward through the windscreen. We get a slightly better view of the driver, and we can make our own judgements of the surroundings in front of the car. Keep up the good work Thomas a Team.

    Pedro I thought it meant to discontinue all the exciting models in your line-up to focus on SUV’s and crossovers, and even naming said SUV’s and crossovers after the exciting models that you used to have (i.e. Eclipse Cross is named after the old Mitsubishi Eclipse, Ford’s Mach 1 electric crossover is named after the Mach 1 Mustang)

  • @carlosandleon

    @carlosandleon

    @@joshbacon8241 yeah but to be fair Mitsubishi is an SUV marque. Even with their lancer legacy, I think Mitsubishi is more traditionally the offroad/ offroad style company. I for one can't wait for the lancer SUV. It just makes sense to carry over those old names into their new product lineup. Coupes and Sedans are no longer relevant. This is how you keep the name alive somewhat. At least until coupes and sedans are relevant again.

    Sorry, couldn't live with that rough suspension - why do manufacturers fit such firm suspension to a road car - even Thomas said: "...car doesn't have to be that sporty!" It's not a racing car designed for the Nordschleife. That hard suspension will loosen pensioner's hips, and their fillings will drop out. At 18:50 - a 2CV - great car. Love the Driving Lounge, many thanks, as always, Thomas.

    A quirky SUV with reliability... Why not. But the driving doesn't look that good as 3008 or Cx5.

    Man möchte halt mehr Leute ansprechen. Nur Deutsche anzusprechen scheint wohl nicht mehr zu reichen 🤷‍♂️. Wahrscheinlich verdient man auch damit mehr 😉. Ich persönlich bevorzuge Deutsche Berichte von Deutschen in Deutschland gedreht 😁. Man hätte ja auch englische Untertitel machen können. Aber so kann man sich zumindest über den schrecklichen Akzent beömmeln 😂
