2019 HONDA CBR500R REVIEW

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is my 2019 HONDA CBR500R REVIEW. A great-looking bike as you can see but what did it ride like? Anything I didn't like??
The Honda CB500R is a sporty and stylish motorcycle in Honda's CB500 lineup. Here are some key features and information about the Honda CB500R:
1. Design: The CB500R features a sporty and aggressive design with sharp lines and a compact profile. It draws inspiration from its larger displacement siblings in Honda's sport bike lineup. It has a full-fairing design with an angular headlight and a streamlined body, giving it a modern and dynamic appearance.
2. Engine: The CB500R is powered by a 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It offers a good balance of power and efficiency, making it suitable for both city commuting and spirited riding. The engine is known for its smooth power delivery and a broad torque curve, providing enjoyable performance across various riding conditions.
3. Performance: While not designed for extreme performance, the CB500R offers a lively and responsive riding experience. The engine delivers ample power for spirited acceleration and highway cruising. The lightweight chassis and agile handling characteristics make it nimble and maneuverable, ideal for navigating through urban traffic and twisty roads.
4. Comfort and Ergonomics: The CB500R features an upright riding position with slightly forward-leaning ergonomics, striking a balance between sportiness and comfort. It offers a comfortable seat for the rider and passenger, making it suitable for longer rides and commuting.
5. Technology and Features: The CB500R incorporates modern technology features. It typically includes a digital instrument cluster displaying essential information such as speed, fuel level, gear position, and more. The motorcycle may also come with LED lighting for improved visibility and energy efficiency.
6. Suspension and Brakes: The CB500R is equipped with a front telescopic fork and a rear mono-shock suspension, offering a balance of comfort and sporty handling. It typically features disc brakes at the front and rear, providing reliable stopping power.
7. Versatility: The CB500R is a versatile motorcycle suitable for riders of various skill levels. It is popular among riders who appreciate a sporty and stylish appearance but prefer a more manageable and approachable power output. It can be a good choice for new riders looking to step up to a mid-sized sport bike or experienced riders seeking a fun and practical motorcycle.
Please note that specifications and features may vary depending on the specific model year and the market in which the Honda CB500R is sold. It's always recommended to consult Honda's official website or authorized dealers for the most accurate and up-to-date information about the Honda CB500R available in your region.

Hi, great review! Especially I´d like to emphasize that aspect of motorcycle riding that so many, unfortunately, seems to look a blind eye to in their reviews, but you got it spot on: And that´s making the most out of a bike´s rideability and playfulness regarding its capacity. I´ve ridden for the past 10 years bikes that hold displacement over a 1000 cc, and that is pretty demanding in several aspects. You mention the constant paranoia losing your license, well that´s one thing. Another, which should be of lot greater concern is losing control in ridiculous speeds. Because, let´s face it - when on a supersport i.e a Fireblade, or say. an R1, and with that sort of thing, you´re constantly made aware of what you are riding. And to sort of justify the fact you´re riding a speed machine, you´re more inclined to endeavour their world of high revs, unleashing power that demands proper seasoned rider skills, hence those sorts of bikes are a lot more unforgiving should you faulter and give the wrong kind of input in certain situations. This is of course all due the sharpness of their very nature, and not many vloggers discuss this in an overly manner. So, in that regard, a middle weight bike like this CBR500, is a great machine. Even though there is quite a few youngsters out there who imagine themselves as a new Marquez or Rossi in the twisties, they lack the skill to really master the immense power today´s super bikes provide, and sadly end up as statistics. Not that you´re perfectly able to become just that on either a 500 or 125 for that matter, but what I´ve learned over the years since I started out riding bikes, comes from asking me one simple question: "What do I want to get out of riding?" For me, the most recurring answer has been: Feelings of becoming one with the bike while riding. Not an adrenaline fueled scare from challenging myself and taking constantly risks. That would make me a less good rider. But the feeling and playfulness in high revs are far more accessible in a lot more situations on this bike, than say on a R1. It´s nature is more forgiving than the aforementioned bikes, but still provides a lot of joyful and exillarating rides without having to go at lightning speeds. Making the most of the motor and really feeling you can thoroughly whip it with control is far more within reach on this kind of 500 than on larger displacement bikes. Having great fun doesn´t require huge displacement motors! Cheers, and ride safe people! ;)

Almost purchased the 500r after passing my test but went for the 500x, great bikes for learning your craft, in my opinion for what its worth, honda are just quality, had six honda bikes now in a row, every time i compare with like for like with the top four brands always come back to honda. The only issue i found with a 500, you have to plan overtakes, cheers for sharing, great video as always, great accent by the way.

I was torn between a CB500F and a second hand Street Triple A2. I never managed to get a ride on a CB500F, but did manage test rides on a 2017 CBR500R, a 2019 CB500X, and the Street Triple A2. I liked the engine on the CB500s. I thought the handling on the CBR500R was excellent. I found the CB500X to be vague. As I understand it, CB500Fs apart from the handle bars and fairing are almost identical to the CBR500Rs, so I assume they should handle just as well. The newer clutch and gearbox was better on the 2019 models. The only thing I didn't like about the 2019 CB500 range was the display. I had something similar on my CB125R. They were all a bit hard to read. The plain LCD on the 2017 CBR500R was much easier to see ( but doesn't have a gear indicator ). The fuel economy and range on the CB500s is amazing (73MPG, 275 miles per tank). Much better than the Street Triples. In the end I got the second hand Street Triple S A2, even in A2 guise it has more low down grunt (660cc vs 471cc), I love the sound of the triple, and it is smoother than a twin. The plain LCD on the Triple S is nice and easy to see. The Triple is a little bit lighter too. The way insurance companies treat the Street Triple A2 almost swung it back to me getting the CB500F. Even in restricted form they class the Street Triple A2 S as 94BHP. Thus insurance is a lot more expensive. I asked if they classified derestriction as a "performance mod", and due to things I can't understand they didn't. I got it derestricted. Now if I was a younger A2 restricted licence rider, with even more expensive insurance, I have a challenge seeing how Triumph sell many Street Triple S A2s. In A2 form there's not a lot to choose between a CBR500R/F and a Street Triple S A2 other than the CBR500R/F works out a lot cheaper on all counts. The only promise of the Street Triple A2 is derestriction, this is what swung it for me, oh and I'm probably a Triumph "Fan Boy" !

I never really understood why people get upset about Honda's flipped turn signal setup. I think that you get used to it pretty quickly. But current Honda's do have a push to pass button for you left index finger. I own a 2019 CBR500R so I should know

@@philipe.9466 Just for the record I'm not upset about it but when I need the horn in a hurry I have to think about where it is and lift my left thumb rather than like on other bikes its the bottom button. I still can't get used to it on my NC tbh. I know what you mean people do bang on about it but it's relevant I think.

exeter rider I guess each to their own. Personally I really don't have a problem getting used to that setup. But I can see how it can become a hassle for some people. That being said I don't think it's going to be that big of an issue for most people. Apart from that I always try to avoid using the horn. "A rider who honks well rides bad" or something like that, don't remember the correct wording ;)
