@VNL 730 The 2AD Diesel engine used in these (South Africa, Australia, New Zealand) is not a BMW engine. In Europe the BMW-made WW engine replaced it in 2015 (N47 engine). Indeed, having owned a BMW Diesel once, I am also not particularly thrilled by that development.

It’s a legal requirement in some European countries I believe. The indicators flash under heavy braking

In reality the sound of these d4d (who are now stopped since a moment I think) are very good, I personally really appreciate it. it's very smooth for a diesel engine about the sound. In all case it still better than the horrible sounds of a Tdi VW or even bmw d etc ... An exemple of the d4d sound here : kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqeIu8SOpbm4p6Q.html

But this sound is all except bad. It's the sound of the oil pump and injectors and even if it's really loud in the video, and I swear, in reality it's a very smooth sound for a diesel !

I have rave4 2015 engine sound very bad not relax . Using diesel 10 L in 100 KM. The Toyota garage couldn't find the problem. Don't buy !!

depends how you drive it. I had 11.9 with the new Corolla as 2.0 hybrid

Miserable engine. Compared to the Ford Kuga 2.0 136HP tragedy. Loud, slow and a lot of fuel.

the 2.2 L is an old engine, no longer sold in europe also awd and (quite old) automatic transmission increase consumption and reduce performance, 0-100 in this car is only 0.25 seconds faster than 2.0 turbodiesel version with 124 hp (92 kw), fwd and manual transmission, but the 2.0 is quieter and more efficient

Well I do have to agree but only in this model... Because the new rav 4 performs alot better. Good fuel economy With a great petrol engine.

Never compare a Ford with a Japanesse Cars, Toyota and other always win.
