How did Shahlaei turn into such a good deadlifter? I never would've expected him to beat Big Z AND Felix. He also did very well at the World Deadlift Championship at ESM.

I think it'd be hilarious to put a guy like me in competition (I'm a tiny wimp) for comedy. like during the truck pull I'd be trying to pull a golf cart and struggling at it 😆

Respect for Nick and Mark for keeping at it. Cool to see them in the same heat. Plus, Best and Shahlaei beating Big Z twice each! Didn't see that coming XD

I love me some Nick Best. He was very smart there in the loading race. I love strong men to not only use their muscles but the tool that makes the body move. The brain.

Watching Big Z do the viking press is unreal. Real good demonstration of what a fucking monster that guy is. He could've done more, too.

not sure, are the heats contested on the same day? If not than those in the earlier heats should have an advantage having more rest. The lady is really tall or how long are those stilletossssssssssssssssssssss lol

Yes they do everything over a three day period. They run one event at a time, with every heat competing that's involved in the event. Everyone does two events a day.

What a joke! Mark Felix is nowhere near 6'4"! Laurence Shahlei is taller than Felix and he is billed as 6'2", which is probably spot on. If you look at 40:25 you can clearly see how the 6'2" Shahlei is taller than Felix.

+Colin Boots Yes, but don't be fooled into thinking it is cheating. The discipline needed to eat 8-10k calories a day, every day, and train enough to be in the top 30 (The 99.999999th) percentile is fucking insane. Millions of men on the same steroids would get nowhere near there level. The drugs do work, but the hard work gets them to a level roided gym rats will never see.

schnitzelferk i suppose if eveyone else is doing it 2 then its not cheating. however i strongly believe that they are cheating themselves. and taking drugs and abusing your body so that you look and feel like shit by the time you hit 60 isnt my idea of success

  • @schnitzelferk

Colin Boots True. Though I would argue the average person in USA/UK with their drinking and eating habits tends to feel like shit and have health problems by the age of 60 too anyway. I am not condoning steroids, but actually, if you use them sensibly, get regular health checks, and your body is resilient to them in terms of side effects, then they're just as dangerous as booze, cigarettes, and terrible diets. The one main issue with injectables is the heart. Orals kill the Liver but these guys will be on injections. They tend to put a lot of stress on the heart. Mike Jenkins who died is a clear case of this - his heart was twice the usual size. The heart is a muscle, and contrary to popular belief, it does have, within reason, a genetic counter - once those counts are up, so are you. Other than severe environmental factors or trauma, genetics are your main enemy. Bill Kazmaier who hosts this at times is 62 and he is perfectly healthy, and believe me, he was using less refined more experimental steroids (70's was when it really all kicked off - and little research or medical knowledge was around, so they were the guinea pigs).
