why? Everything about it is worse. Have you driven both? It's not even close when comparing how they drive. The S550 drives like a BMW and hugs the road this thing goes all over the place.

@@rikkertlive9502 first it does not look better. You mean to tell me a skinny tall car looks better than a low to the ground wide body sports car? Second this is the first Mustang that has suspension components that are actually on par with today's technology.

@@4touchdowns1game29 It just looks better it's the last real muscle car and the last Shelby from Carroll Shelby the is no comparison to a s550, and it looks way more aggressive than a s550 and if you look at the prices a gt 500 from 2014 still cost 55k and a gt350 40k and the best part is it's the fastest mustang ever produced (top speed) 202 mph

@@rikkertlive9502 first off top speed has nothing to do with how fast something is, all that tells you is how its geared. My gsxr 750 had a higher top speed than my ninja 1000 because I had HIGHER GEARING. the previous gt500 is nowhere near as close as the s550 gt500 when looking at lap times and quarter mile times. The S550 does the quarter mile in the 10-second range stock genius the previous generation did not do that. Not to mention on a track with turns the S550 murders it as it has actual modern suspension not an axle. There's a reason the S550 is the best selling Mustang ever.

seriously my dream car, I like the new gt350 but I love the model look from 13-14

That was the end of an era of real muscle cars. It was a straight line beast . Now everyone tried to say yeah but can it corner? Who cares when you’re next to me on the highway we aren’t trying to see who can take the exit fastest it’s who is faster in the straight line. This body style in 13-14 was the best from the base model up. Just incredible car all the way around. The only thing they could had done different was the 3.31 gears but they did that to beat the gas guzzler and the 200mph top speed claim. The 2020 GT500 will be cool but not like this one .

So much for taking it easy for the break in period........

the air silencer won't silence the sound from the supercharger, only the sucking sound of the air intake.

All you have to do is drive one, like you have, to know why people love them. The rush you got is what is addictive, but you are right, they are scary and dangerously fast. Drives easy, but you need experience and good judgement to stay safe in these awesome traditional american muscle cars.

I have a 2014. At redline in FIRST gear you are hitting 65 as the rev limiter kicks in, slamming it in to 2nd will break the back loose at 70+ MPH.....gonna see a lot of these wrecked.

+david thayer - I just got my 2014 this past weekend and I still haven't hammered it. I short shifted the whole way home from the dealership to slowly introduce myself to the power. Car is composed. As soon as you put the car in gear and start down the road you can feel how well built it is.

Bottom line on the prop rod decision.....they're light, they work, they last FOREVER......the same can't be said about the hydraulic cylinders.....do you know how many of those we replace in the shop???.....very costly.....stick with a prop rod!!!

what are the biggest complaints for 13-14 shelby's? I have the cash to buy a 03 04 cobra but 662hp has me thinking of looking at these newer models...I assume the shelby's have even stronger internals??

The 13-14 GT500 came with fully forged internals from the factory, making them super strong. I know of a few GT500 making 800 hp to the tires on stock internals. My only complaint is that the shifter is so short that it makes it feel very in precise.

The 13 -14 is forged aluminum it is not fully forged ....

Joseph Webb they're fully forged. they also have the plasma wire transferred cylinder linings.

Matt the only thing forged on that car is the crankshaft the rods are forged aluminum they are not forged steel !! That's a fact thee only true forged mustang from svt was the cobra !! And now the Shelby 1000

Good review. The exhaust sounds pure stock. Compare it to Jay Leno's test of a 13. I own a stock 14. All the present day rave about the 2020's handling is nice. But as a long time car enthusiast, I can't see pushing handling limits much on the street.

cheaper to burn rubber then clutch... you burn both and nearly grind gears... but "No manual expert" is right.

Do you rcommend buying 2010-12 models? They around 10-15k $ cheaper

Just dont get the 2010 it got an iron block ..11 and 12 got aluminum engines. And if you do research 11 and 12 are the best engines because you can get more horsepower than a 5.8,

I imagine with the all season tires it would spin a lot more that the stock tires (GY eagle F1 tires).

everything was cool until I read this comment and then I spewed my ice cold Big Red all over the screen, which scared "bOOger dOg" causing him to fart and if you never smelt a dog fart before then you can not relate to my pain.....thanks Kyle Nandalall

Ok quick correction, this is a DOHC dual over head cam. Not QOHC quad over head cam engine have 4 shafts per cylinder head. These have 2.

BIG_K nah my man DOH means they have 2 over each side. SOHC only have 2 valves per cylinder

Hey thanks! Actually this car is my dad's. He lets me drive every know and then. Hard work always pays off so if save and spend wisely you should be able to get in to a nice car, that's how I got in to my Pontiac G8 GT.

Sniper God i bought a 2012 v6 cash at 19. Working 80 hrs a week. I would say start with a v6, then save up a little more and get the v8 until too you get the Shelby. ( that's my gameplan rn)

Lol this car now costs about 45-55k, your insurance would be off the roof. Plus financing it is would be way too much for you. Just get a 99-04 mustang GT off of Craigslist, start off small. Buy it for like 2500-3500k.

The only problem I have besides the shifter it the muffler it’s very restrictive
