2013 Hyundai Elantra Clutch Problems

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The customer complained about early clutch engagement and harsh shifting especially to reverse. The clutch master cylinder pushrod eye was worn excessively. I fabricated a partial bushing.

Great video! You’re helping keep these vehicles on the road a bit longer.

I've had a few were the clutch slave cylinder pin wore right through the throw out bearing arm , they don't use grease and of course all the dirt and salt collect right were the pin sits in the socket of the throw out bearing arm .

Good point. I noticed it was rusty. I should of at least lubed it. Maybe I will check that in the morning since the car is still here...

The connection point is plastic and it wears out which is why you have play

How did you make that bushing to reduce play. I am trying to do the same for mine without replacing the master cylinder

I cut a small piece of sheet metal kinda crescent shaped. It's just temporary as we will be replacing the clutch master. The pushrod is aluminum I believe.

Clutch rod is plastic, currently having the same issue on my genesis coupe. Wodnering what material does other car makers use. The rod does wear out over time and its annoying.

@xXSupeRNovA69 this one was aluminum. Some manufacturers use steel with a Teflon bushing.
