    If you've played around with many bows, you'll now that they rarely come in at exactly 70 lbs. Most the time they are more, and occasionally less. These bows both drew at 73-74 lbs maxed out. We let them both down to exactly 70 lbs so we were playing on an even field.

    Ive been shooting Mathews for a dealer now for 14 years and today I shot the New Hoyt from another archery shop and Wow! What a great bow as is the new Mathews. It cost about 800 + tax for the Mathews and 1200+ tax for the Hoyt. Good luck to which ever u choose, both are great bows.

    great video, vector is faster than carbon element, because difference in materials, vector is stiffer, is it as forgiving as the carbon element?

    I've watched a bunch of other reviews on you tube with a 68 lb 29 inch draw helim with a 415 grain arrow and they got 296 fps..why is your heli-m test slower with more draw weight???

  • @dryflyelk
    @dryflyelk12 жыл бұрын

    @Andrew0099 Yes, they are backed out. The bow drew well over 70 lbs with the limbs maxed. We measured on the same accurate scale the shop has been using for years. It's legit. We had to turn it down to get it to 70. Matter of fact, the same goes for the hoyt bows. One maxed at about 75.

    I shot the RKT Element along side the HeliM the other day. The RKT was originally my first choice and the reason I went there in the first place. I thought the bow was well built, smooth and fast. But, I after shooting the Mathews and feeling the differences, seeing the quality up close, and thinking about that extra $400 dollars, I left with the HeliM. The Element's design is very cool, and it's a great bow, but not worth $400 more to me.

    Brace height on the hoyts is shorter..basically equaling more speed. They are all sweet and very close in speed considering even small brace height difference.

    @frantic29 Best post Ive seen. I agree 100% Its a Ford, Chevy, Dodge thing, and it has a lot to do with where you live. I run a small archery shop, and you cant give away Hoyts here, and Mathews you can't keep on the rack. Hoyt is a great bow, all the flavor you want.

    the "advertised speed" is ibo, meaning 30" draw and 70lbs draw weight, with a 350 grain arrow not 29" draw with a 400 grain arrow give or take

  • @Lynviking
    @Lynviking12 жыл бұрын

    @theAzbowhunter There used to be a HUGE difference between what mathews advertised theor bows weight and what they actually weighed. Apparently, they have recently "remedied" that and now advertise the actual weight of their bows.

    Look mate, this will be my last post about this. You have a good bow, it shoots plenty fast for your draw weight. Don't get too caught up in the 'faster is better' bullshit. There was a time when the first compounds that were made shot slower than your ruckus at more poundage. They were only slighly faster than recurves. We all shot big heavy alloy arrows and carbons did not exist.......how did we kill game?..............easily! best of luck and practice heaps bro.

    It doesn't matter how big you are, the muscles used when drawing a bow are in your back. Ive seen guys who can bench 300 pounds but cant draw 70lbs. At the same time guys who are tiny can draw that weight cuz of practice and lots of shooting time. It took me a few months of practicing almost every day to go from 55lbs to being able to draw 70lbs. Plus the chrono doesn't lie you tool.
