Hello all , Here's a video on how to repair and replace a headlight wire. Apparently these are fairly common for burning up. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for the easy video. Gotta appreciate how Hyundai made those wires about 5 inches long at the factory constantly leading them to breaking. Genius fuckin engineers.

I'm sorry, I don't fully understand. How does the length of the wires affect things or cause more issues? Please let me know 🙏

@@pappleisbeast it makes it impossible to work on or replace. Any other car and you’d have some leeway to work on this stuff. But not Hyundai. You’ll break the wire just trying to fix the wire it’s such a pain in the ass

I orderd a dorman 645993 for a 2012 sonata gls is it possible to plug straight into the harness it seems like my wires are too damaged to reuse (install via splicing)

Could a cause for this be the light wasn't locked back into place?

my passenger headlight kept going out.. have replaced the bulb like 3 times... (I have a 2017) and finally the repair guy showed me HEY this has a short somewhere and showed me the burned out part. UGH. I haven't had the time or money to replace this thing. I hope that is all it is.. and can replace just the connector.. Has there been shown to have any shorts higher up into the electical system? Or is this usually the fix that fixes it?

I still can’t believe they used two different sized bolts for this. The Hyundai engineers should be fined for this travesty of design.
