My 2012 Elantra needs H1 for high beam and i did not have to take out the full headlight assembly, just opened the Cap and replaced it. ( just in case anyone else has to di the same )

Thanks guys, you saved me a couple hundred bucks by showing me how to do this! One note for anyone else watching - I was able to do both bulbs without pulling either headlight out of the car. I started on the passenger side so I could see how it fit in, and the drivers side was definitely more cramped but I got the bulb in fine. Wear gloves so you don't ruin the bulb, and always replace them in pairs!

I was going to comment the same thing. I was able to get a better angle by taking off the air filter housing, and it freed a lot of room to get a whole hand in that space.

There is no need to remove the screws in order to take the headlight out. I was able to, easily take the headlight out by just removing the 3 bolts. Otherwise this was a great video.

That was specifically for the high beam bulb, correct?

no need to take off all them screws!! the whole light pops out if your jiggle it a bit.

Hey! Do you guys have any video on how to replace the broken lens by itself with a new one?

My high beam refuses to work but I’m missing the silver piece that’s holding the bulb in is that the problem?

My 2014 has an H7 not an H1 just incase anyone else has a 14 with reflector housing

Thanks, the H1 clip is also in the Elantra Touring and it's super non-intuitive to replace if you fuck up the clip placement like I did.

Hello what if the fog lights are in the headlights with the highbeam bulb? How do you chNge that?

Hey I tried to change mine with a led but the light wouldn't work then when I put the plug back on my original one wont work now. Driver side works passenger side dont any more and it was a working light when I started. Any suggestions on what is wrong

Yeah this is tricky so be aware, I wanted to do the same to my 2011 Elantra GLS and bought H1 LEDs for it thinking it’ll be plug and play and now that I received the LED H1 bulbs for the high beam, it comes with 2 connectors and my power socket accepts only one so keep that in mind. I don’t even know what to do in this scenario. LoL, FAIL and SOL! FYI- I bought the LAS Fit LED H1 bulbs in 6000K.
