You think that's bad??? Try changing out the high beams - they don't snap and clip - there is a retaining clip that is practically impossible to place back on after inserting the bulb. Terrible engineering!

I went to change my head light at the mechanic shop and the guy charged me 45 Dallas. I just watched your video and went to the auto shop to get my light and now I’ve changed my head light. Simple work they charge too much. You make me get it done in less than 10 minutes.Thanks a million for the creative video

Thank you for this. I have a 2012 Hyundai Elantra and these steps worked. Please note that for the passenger side I didn’t need to take headlight out.

I have never had so much trouble trying to change a headlight. I could barely get the thing back in, took me 20 minutes! Appreciate this video at least.

Same here. A little hip action did the trick. Hopefully nothing is damaged.

Thank you, I went the wrong way and thought I simply had to move the fuse box. Fortuantely I didnt go much further than the bolt between the fuse box and the battery. Subbing to your channel!

thanks so much. but I did it my own way super quick if your able to reach of course. just open the hood. take the top off that covers it. look where the bulk is. mine was pretty tight once it's open. just pull down turn it to the left . get the new one. and done. 5 min job.10 likes and once my brand new bulbs get here I'll not only do those. but also the high beams.

This is the easier way to do it right? I remember a couple years ago a mechanic did it without doing all the steps in these videos. I don't remember how but I guess I have to eyeball it

Could it also be a 9005 bulb, not just H11?

H7 is for high beam bulb, while H11 is the low beam bulb.

Like your videos but get a descent light for outdoor fill.

Great video. Is it safe to say that only the driver's side needs to be taken apart this way. There's much more room on the passenger side. Can the passenger side low beam bulb be installed without taking the complete headlight assemble out?

@Eric Christopher Mestre: I have a 2015 Elantra and the passenger side bulb is much easier to change. The bulb has a cap over it which must be twisted off, identical to what's on the driver side. Besides that, the challenge is twisting the bulb back into place but it's still quite simple. Good luck!

ALERT: I planned to replace the bulbs per the video. Took my 2014 Elantra to my mechanic for brake work. Dennis saw the bulbs on the seat. When done he said "No Charge" for the bulbs. He showed me how he reached back, removed the round covers, and replaced both. Not sure if his hands are smaller than normal. He said no need to remove the headlight. Took him 2 mins.

I know your comment/Q is from 4 years ago, but for anyone else reading this, the low beam is a H11, while the high beam is a H7.

Do elantras have separate high beam and low beam bulbs?

Changed bulb as instructed but now for some reason the high beam bulb on same side won’t work? WTF?

It should have been mentioned that in the American version there are h11, and in the European version there are h7. It confused me and I just bought h11 when I should have h7...... Regards
