Sorry, Cliff., but, great as your performance was, Eli eclipsed you fair and square. I'm so pleased that Eli finally got the award that he so richly deserves. Years overdue but better late than never. Would loved to have met Eli to shake his hand. What a guy and what an outstanding actor! Long live Eli, long live Tuco! ;-)

TRADUZIONE IN ITALIANO: Amici, signori e signore, membri dell’Academy: grazie.

With the passing of Eli Wallach, there is only one main cast member of Sturges' The Magnificent Seven: Robert Vaughn, who admired Wallach and gave an interview with him in connection with the bluray release of the film. Wallach was a consummate actor and he maintained long lasting friendships with many actors and directors, including Clint Eastwood, his co-star in the Leone Good, Bad and The Ugly film. He was playing key roles in contemporary films until the end of his career.

Legendary actor and well deserved hommage and Honorary Oscar, he was also the only survivor cast member of "The Magnificent Seven" (except for Robert Vaughn), "The Misfits" (all have passed away) and (except for Clint) "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"! Congratulations, Eli!
