How lovely to hear Matthew and Nathan sing some of those songs again! I was lucky enough to see them as Bialystock and Bloom on Broadway in 2001, and it was fantastic!

I went with a music group to NYC in 2001. I was offered a ticket to the Lion King or a to "some new show, but we don't know what it'll be." The Lion King was amazing, but I'm still jealous of those that went to the "new show" and got to see Matthew and Nathan.

I was lucky enough to see them when they returned to the show a few yrs later. Could not get tix the 1st time around. I think Nathan & Matthew were doing a little improvising during the show. Had the best time--what a great show!

I'm in here singing along and clapping with the biggest smile on my face!!! Mell Brooks is LIFE!!! My Daddy has been super serious always and one day when I was about 13, he sat me down and said we were going to watch the BEST movie ever created. I expected it to be yet another war film. But, nope. It was *Blazing Saddles!* That was the moment my Daddy became even more of a hero to me because it showed he wasn't just brilliant, loving, and a great provider, but he was also a total goofball!!! over 40 years later, he's still my hero and we still quote lines and songs from Mell Brooks movies together! 🥰🤗

But lucky enough to have a TV, with a local channel that showed older movies….like the original Producers, I instantly fell in love with Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel., and Mel Brooks. I am proud to admit that I own every one of Mel's movies going back to "The 12 Chairs". I remember being in school and while in study hall or at lunch my friends and I would do whole scenes of Mel's movies. Oppenheimer, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Coda, Nomadlands, all hacks compared to Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Dracula, Dead & Loving It, History of the World, Silent Movie, High Anxiety, The 12 Chairs. His movies are part of not only my life, but of every American who knows how to laugh. A Jewish screenwriter, married to a Catholic Actress, (Ann Bancroft) who both starred in a hilarious movie about the nazis in 1939 Poland, "To Be or Not To Be", should have received an Oscar for that movie alone. The man who brought some of the best movies ever seen in cinema has finally received his Oscar. I am thrilled Mel is still alive to have received it personally. It's a shame they waited so long. Congratulations Mr Brooks, for your Oscar and thank you for giving me years of laughter. We love you.

However, when broadcasting it elsewhere (like KZread), please include a window with a focus on the ASL interpreter so that Deaf/HoH folks can have an option that might be more accessible than auto-generated craptions. We're a couple years past the point where Crip Camp was a nominee and the Academy was getting a crash course in how to finally make things more accessible. Please don't chuck those lessons away.

Happy Birthday Matthew Broderick. UR amazing legend. Seriously! I love Godzilla. Its awesome, great movie. Killing a giant Dinosaur. Wow. Totally awesome. Me and my younger brother, we love it. Oh yeah, I seen both Godzilla movies. One in 2014 the other King of the Monsters 2019. Hardcore. The Lion King 1, 2 and 1½ is great. I love Disney movies. Same for Inspector Gadget. Its not bad... and WarGames, I saw it in HighSchool, 2009 or 2012, I guess. Pretty kool. U were incredible. I played in the computer wargames also. It was on *gamepost.* U and Nathan were great in The Lion King. Full support u Matthew and Nathan. May the Peace be with u Matthew Broderick. From Harlingen Texas.
