One of the best parts of Denzel's speech was omitted. He won that night - along with Halle Berry - and he said "Two birds in one night." Classic!

Dustins was the best in my opinion. It was refreshing. lot of these speeches call out racism or inequality in American cinema but readily accept an award without calling out the academy for not nominating or not awarding actors of colour and non English films. And not nominating performances or movies that didnt have a huge push from big movie studios, at least he acknowledged that he wasn't fond on the academy and stuck to his guns

Olivia Colman's for best actress (The Favourite) is hands down the best oscar acceptance speech I've ever heard or ever will hear.

I actually don't know Dustin Hoffman as an actor and I am kind of a fan of Jauqine Pheonix but tbh I liked the speech of Dustin which was simple and very necessary and unique from what people usually say like about the fight or racism etc .. Artists like even the make-up artists should've been given awards but no one recognized their efforts so I think he did a great job in his speech

Joaquin just blows me away he is so very sincere in his speech and states what is most important to him and that is to try to make changes in our world so it will be here for our future generations to come. No matter if you are Vegan or not you can’t help but hear the pain in his voice when he speaks about man taking a mother cows milk to put in our coffee. It just makes me cry. Joaquin Phoenix is truly one of the greatest actors and human beings on our precious planet.

This is such a subjective subject. I really don’t agree with the title of “best speeches ever” perhaps over the last 10 years would have been better. If you can, please take a look at Lord Lawrence Olivier’s speech, I think it was for a lifetime achievement, but I remember the audience’s reaction and Jon Voight in particular. Now that was an acceptance speech!
