Dennis, It's a great honor and privilege to finally meet you. Thank you for helping Eric answer some of our questions. May you and your family be blessed w/ less stressful times, good health, safety. Your a good man that has raised and supported a great family. Be proud of yourself. Job well done. Eric, What can be said that hasn't already been said a million times over. You've got a big set of shoes to fill and your doing a wonderful job doing it. Taking older traditions in farming and advancing them forward is not as easy as it sounds, but your doing it. Alot of us older folks have alot of respect for you. May you, Emily, and your lil girl be blessed w/ many great things, good health, and safety as well. Long live the cattle industry.

Your dad's answer to the question what would you do to upgrade the farm if it didn't cost you anything, says a lot about your dad's work ethic: "Could use another tractor to haul manure......but ours is working fine!" So even if money is not an issue he can't force himself to think about upgrading the tractor because the current one is working fine. Waste not. Want not.

I'm atheist and agree. The way they do it matters. Just a quiet as part of who they are, not trying to jam it down anyone's throat. I find Christans - as opposed to hypocrites - are respectful and nonjudgmental. I think that's when we nonbelievers get defensive. When instead of just naturally mentioning it as Eric and his father do as part of their life and who they are, they preach at and/or judge those who don't believe the same. This is America. We are all free to believe or not and both should be respected. Honestly, many nonbelievers are just as bad and get up in arms as soon as someone mentions their faith and that's just as hypocritical. Can always tell the believers from the hypocrites though. Believers are content to let God be the judge. They trust him to.

Farming has got to be one of the most "well rounding" jobs you could have, especially the way you guys do it. Your humility about what you know and what your education is is admirable. A lot people hardly know anything other then what their one simple job is.

This Q and A is really interesting. I am glad you talked about the size of your farm, expansion, robot milking. When I watch your videos the personal contact you have with your land and your animals is different from the massive dairy operations that seem more like factories. Like the difference between buying a sweater and spinning and knitting one. As modern people we are live detached from the sources of material life. I enjoy watching your videos because work, life, land, and spirit are all in one place.

I looked forward to this one! Congrats on 200K! And thank you, Dad, for answering my question about the changes you've seen over your lifetime. I was afraid it'd get lost in the shuffle. Interesting answer. I've been away from farms for 50 years and found the channel when I was writing a fiction story about a young dairy farmer and wondered at the changes and those were the two that jumped out at me most - the tech and the milk parlor. My uncle's farm had neither all those years ago.

I'm glad to see so many channels are starting to highlight what our industry is about. It might not be the most glamorous occupation, but I think almost all of us can agree that we would rather do nothing else ( NBA careers aside). Keep up the good work and may the Lord continue to protect and bless your family.

Thank you for this video👍 I just wanted to say that one of the biggest regrets I have in life is not staying on the family dairy farm. I decided at age 25 that I didn’t want to work 7 days a week. I have been driving tractor and trailer since then I’m now 48 years old. I drive a milk tanker now which is ironic because the milk has to be picked up 7 days a week lol. I pick up milk in southern NJ there are only 9 dairy farms left. Thanks Eric

Same. I left farm country when I came of age. I'm 62 now and find myself missing it and my daughter and grandson don't understand, have not been exposed to farming and the country enough. If I had one thing to do over, I'd stay in the country. If for no other reason than for my offspring to understand my interest in it. My family farmed since the 1600s here in New York and forever in England before that. Only one uncle stuck with it but we're uncountable generations in.
