@@earlyequipment7415 i had one back in 2009 with the cvt transmission. I loved it. Sports handling, cool tech features, kinda loud with road noise. The sound system was nice too. Only had it a year and unfortunately I got rear ended and it was totaled.

My 09 Lancer GTS is the most reliable car I've ever owned. No problems so far and it's a a second hand car.

I have the Lancer Ex 2008/2009 1.5L it’s been 13 years and the car looks still new.

I bought the 2008 lancer 4 years ago. I've done 60,000k & it is still as good as brand new. Ever so reliable and comfy. I love that car!!

Thinking of buying fir my first car. Hard work pays off

awesome mate. honestly awesome on petrol has a lil balls my one has evo front etc oh just love it, the six speed paddle shift shifts very quickly. not a fault. interior is just magic. wouldn't drive anything else. I just came from having a v8.

im driving the six speed auto. would choose the auto any day as i have the paddles. its a pretty quick car. mine has aftermarket stereo so cant answer that. all i know its pretty good on gas, its pretty quick, fun to drive when you wanna race through the hills flapping down gears, the interior is seductive as hell if you get the leather trim. back seats fold down for the dogs or whatever while you sit back and watch movies on the screen. ahhhhhhhh

I've got one of these. I'm 6'2 and fit in it just fine. Knee room sucks, but there's loads of head and shoulder room. Handling's pretty nimble, but lacks any kind of feel. Interior is bland as and depressing to be in. Mechanically, it's solid, though. Hasn't left me stranded so far.

Just bought this car!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

tHE SUBWOOFER IS LIKE BEING IN A CLUB! Its the bestttt part!!!

The cvt is 1 belt that moves along a cone. Get the manual if you can drive it. Feels like its has a lot more power than the cvt I test drove before i got mine. my only complaint about my gts is the tire indicator. On days when we have drastic temperature changes the air pressure in the tires changes enough to set off the indicator making you think you might have a flat.

And it a fun car to drive. great fuel economy comfy seats. And have had no repairs to date. got a great deal on it. paid 10,500 for it. Will likley stay with Mitsubishi company after living my car so much!

I had mitsubishi carisma 6-7 years back, the thing was a beast on snow and drove great overall. Loved the car, switched to mazda 626, never could I trust that car as much as I trusted carisma, mazda felt like trash when in slide and like it wanted to kill me. Will probably get this lancer this week. Hope it has the same driving characteristics that carisma had. Also run for 16 years without any problems, no rust, no problems whatsoever. I had it completely barried in snow with under -10 degrees outside for days, just cleaned the snow, started the same moment without any problems whatsoever. just an overall great car

Getting one next week coming from a turbo 3.5 maxima this is gonna be awesome on gas

@StopSignRobot Continual Variable Transmission. normally helps in fuel economy as CVT goes from 0 to top speed in 1 gear, so there arent any lag on acceleration cause the gearbox wont have to disengage the engine and upshift/downshift.

yeah i was thinking that too, of course i'm from australia and here its the es is standard the vr then vrx which has the 2.4 engine. i love lancers, i have a 2005 model and its definitely exciting, no boring corolla for me lol

i have the GTS with MT , it's pretty nice car! great abs working on snow! handling is good. I try the CVT , it's noisy and i don't like the acceleration. Good car

2016 lancer got new dashboard and new front. the lancer reliability is probably the best in the segment and after so many years it still looks more sporty than the current corolla, cruze, civics, etc thats says it all lancer 2.4 faster and more reliable than the 2016 mazda3

This year I bought one steal of a deal of a $300.00 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer it's still good and running. BTW I live on a small Island so I have no problem with this vehicle.

@lancerboy17 We have many 09-10 lancers on our business fleet, I completely agree with you about the paint. We use an automated wash with those cleaning belts (not brushless). And after about 3-4 months all of the lancers look like they are about 20-30 years old, faded, scratched, chipped and terrible. They are great value for money.i spoke to one of the mitsubishi reps here in australia about this, and the same process and paint is used on the outlanders, and we have no problems with them.

@Iplaythrdrumsgood. I Have both a 2010 Lancer and a 2006 Acura(Honda) and I love both cars. Both very reliable. Obviously, my evo gsr is my favorite, but you can't put an evo and an Acura csx in the same class. You cant go wrong with either, both are good cars. Going n/a, I would go with the Honda and sink some $ in aftermarket accessories. Honda engines probably have stronger internals if you wanna mod. It can take alot of xtra hp if you do it right.

Actually, the CVT does have shifting. In my 09 GTS with CVT, the RPMs will redline just like in any auto or manual transmission. So while there are no actual gears, you do have to shift up or down. There aren't gears, but there are belts that simulate gears.

only ralliart and evo come with awd. @Iplaythedrumsgood, Choosing between the Lancer gts and the civic is a tough choice. The civic is a 1.8 liter and the Lancer gts is a 2.4 liter. The lancer gts is the obvious choice if bragging rights from stoplight to stoplight is your thing! However, the aftermarket can fix the little less hp of the Honda to equal the gts in terms of acceleration. I love both cars and I would have to say, take an extended test drive in both(take it home for 24 hours).

The Lancer Evolution, Lancer, Outlander, and Outlander Sport are all based on the same, global platform. If the Evolution is considered one of the best cars ever made, and technology trickles down to the other cars, how can Mitsubishi be considered unreliable? The Ralliart, Outlander and O-sport all have the Evo 9s SWACs (AWD). The Lancer DE, ES, SE, and Ralliart have the same 4B11 Engine, while the GTS and 12 SE have the 4B12 which is the 2.4l version of the 4B1 engine.

@TheTopGun920 Thanks! I also looked into it a bit more, and the Ford Fusion is a much better pick in terms of both fuel efficiency and performance. Also, the Nissan Altima is a good choice as well. Also, Ford invented the automobile, so you know. . .

All of these cars that you say have no good transmissions.

If a car doesn't have a high quality polished interior, a stiff suspension, and a hot body... I pass... therefore... I pass... PEACE OUT! (VW, Honda, and Mazda fan :) )

i think it's just demand; for me, mitsubishis' interior has always been the low point. I think they have good looking exterior design, good performance, and good reliability but the interior is crude and very unlike its sporty Japanese competitors, notably Mazda and Nissan. The interior of the new eclipses for example remind you of something from a 90s ford escort; i wish they would just copy Honda's design like the american automakers.

Mitsubishi being unreliable is about as truthful as Honda and Toyota being the best cars. Apprently if you say it long enough and if you get enough sheep to say it becomes true. The fact is, Honda and Toyota have recalls every month involving hundreds to hundreds of thousands of cars. Don't believe it? Do a search for Honda Recalls or Toyota recalls. If they are so uber reliable, why the recalls? Mitsubishi cars last just as long as any other if you take care of them.
