Just got an 08 Lancer ES the other week. Its sweet! That's all I gotta say. It performs very well, (and trust me, we have an abandoned mall over here and I def. pushed this thing to its limits.) Plus, it has a kicking sound system (the Rockford Fosgate sound system.) Also gotta comment on how mean this thing looks, I own the only Lancer in our neighborhood and trust me it gets a lot of attention. At the store, you always see people run around the bock of the car to get the name of it. IT ROCKS!

it's a decent car for the segment.. got the es model yesterday.. great commuter car for the price.. plus you get the aggressive styling.. interior isn't that bad either.. plus, I like it because it's assembled in japan with the parts also originating there.. now, if you have extra money but don't want to opt for the evo, a gts, or better yet a ralli-art version would be the way to go.. as for me, I'm happy with just the es model.

This isn't the base. It's the GTS. The GTS starts at 17k. I payed 22k for mine with the sun/sound package, navigation, hands-free system and with the CVT tranny. Neither the DE or ES are available with the 10 spoke 18" wheels. He even states "The top of the model GTS like this one costs over 17 thousand." This is a GTS..

I am no sound expert, but I guess it would depend on what bose sound system we are talking about. A friend has bose system in his audi a8 (Standard in the car) IT plays very well and clear. But it does not have a subwoofer, so it is not as loud. It all depends on how you like your sound and what music you mostly play.

how do you know the diffrence between a lancer es..de...and gts?

Comment please. Besides the all wheel drive and increased hp, is there any other differences b/t the evolution and just the lancer. Im doing some research and it looks like the evo has minor fender flares and a huge intake. I need some confirmation and any other notes.

got one of these back in 2008, 27k, with every extra you can get. (dealership orginally tried to sell for 32k... zzz). I love the agressive styling on the front. It's comfortable to drive, it's relatively responsive although i dont flog the shit out of it. Gears are nice and tight, all dials are easy to read. I'm more than happy with the buy.

The ipod plug in is only for GTs version?

I think they meant styling cues, obviously not the same cars. They're just referring to the fact it reminds them of that kind of styling from Alfa Romeo

rockfords are good speakers bose last longer for ppl that wanna mod there speakers. i have the bose speakers in my pathfinder and ive had a 250 stereo and still no blowouts, even the tweeters still are in good condition.. and my record for being a loud driver is 2 tickets in the making

Out of interest, do Japanese manufactured cars have the indicator (blinkers) paddle on the left hand side or right hand side of the steering wheel in the US? In Australia, we drive on the left, but cars manufactured in countries that drive on the right (eg. Germany, US) are sold here with the indicators on the left hand side. Just wondering if the reverse is true on the other side :-P

Great, pretty car, but the Impreza Sedan RS trumps it in many respects, including price and performance. The Lancer was my dream car, but the Impreza won me over after I went showroom hopping. :c

GTS cost too much for just 152hp. Just at a dealer, most of them were around 19.5k to 22k. You can get a all-wheel wrx for that. Hell you can get a pre-owned sti or evo for 24-26k from a dealer. Got an invoiced ($25.5k) for a 2006 evo, 29k miles. Rather pay the extra 3-5k.

First timer.... No.... hell nooo....!!! This car is a mixture of a rally sport car and a sedan. Has lots of power and can go real fast.... If it's manual especially, he needs to keep and eye on the RPM because of the turbo... If he likes the car and just learned how to drive go with the automatic one. :)
