@@freemygrandma8752 I have noticed Jay doesn't banter with most guests like this. There's a bit of awkwardness in all the episodes, they're trying to fill 20~ minutes of discussion so there's often moments where they're trying to think of something to say, or interrupting each other. and sometimes people are just awkward lol

He knows tyres are perishable items. The car sits in a garage for years at a time, barely doing mileage to wear them, but after 4-5 years the rubber is shot. It goes hard and brittle, the surface tends to break down and crack, the suppleness of the sidewalls and ultimate grip ebbs away. A 5 year old tyre might have only covered 1000 miles but it's probably not as good as a tyre that has done 3000 miles and is only 12 months old. They are so important to the handling, ride and safety of these cars. You really should replace them even if they aren't worn out every few years.

P GR Also the tire compound is so soft and sticky they wear out fast, those tires with 5000 miles probably look like they have 30 or 40 thousand miles, about a second before the video ends the tire passes in front of the camera, you can see they are pretty worn.

I got to see these cars in production years ago, as an employee of one of Ferrari's two partners in the F1 business, at that time. Also saw one of the first 612 Scaglietti's coming off the main production line. The Enzo's were being handled off to the side of the main line, and were be physically rolled on metal wheels (thin round plates in lieu of rims/tires) on the factory floor. I recall just 399 were made, with Michael Schumacher getting the first or second car...maybe Montezemolo got the first one, can't recall. After lunch with the F1 team (Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, et al), our entourage got rides on the test track with the test drivers. A red Enzo, a 360 Modena, and a beefed up Modena racing version. It was raining and foggy on the track, so I was not too keen with the high speeds in these conditions. The cars and drivers certainly impressed, nevertheless. I jokingly made the mistake of telling my first test driver that I had already been at the Porsche test track in Stuttgart, so he didn't need to impress me. Not a good move on my part. While riding in the Modena, we even passed the prototype Maserati GranTurismo, just before its Geneva debut. That prototype had been black-taped over its light/grill features, for secrecy reasons. Dinner the night before with overnight stay at the Beau-Rivage/Angleterre on Lac Leman, in Ouchy-Lausanne. Early wake-up before sunrise to catch a private bus to Geneva for the small squadron of four private jets to transport the 20 of us from Geneva to Bologna. Followed thereafter by a bus ride down to Ferrari HQ (Maranello). Full tour of manufacturing and R&D, then Q&A with the F1 management. Topped off with an Italian lunch! What a memory...even for a Porsche driver.

So many collectors are cheap on the one thing that connects them to the road. You see it all the time on track days, cars spun out in the gravel traps or into the wall because the car was driving on oxidized, hard as nails, tires.
