MOre aftermath: Martin Truex Jr was kicked out of the playoffs, while Jeff Gordon (the driver who was screwed out of a spot) was given a spot. Michael Waltrip Racing would close up shop soon after, due to losing sponsorship for two of their cars.

    Can someone explain the pine tar thing to me? Why is it on the bats at all, and how would having more help a hitter? If it gives an advantage, why is it allowed at all??

  • @DanErsson-st7nh

    @DanErsson-st7nh

    Pine Tar is a sticky substance which is allowed/legal in baseball. It is used to help the batter get a better grip of the handle/bottom of the bat. If it is too far up the bat (The Barrel) then it is considered illegal. In this specific case, it gave no advantage. Hence why the ruling was overturned. If you look at the bat in the video, the dark part is pine tar and George Brett was known to apply it there so that he could tap/rub his hands on that spot without having to exit the batters box to get more. Hope this helped.

    New England won that game 45-7, Brady did have 3 passing TD's but the pats still rushed for 177 yards and 3 TD's, take away Bradys part, pats win 24-7. So doesn't matter pats won that game no matter what.....

    You take Brady and Gronk, put them on the worst team in the league and get them a Super Bowl win? Enough said.

    Sergio Busquets??? Really? The fake dive is very common in football, but for you to put a legendary player that is not known for cheating is not cool. If you want to put the diving act you can put David Luiz, he even smiled at the camera after the dive. That's more legendary of a dive act.

    Not sure if being bad at cheating is better or worse than getting away with it. Can we agree to never, ever, allow 'gate' to be stuck onto any scandal ever again? Also: Rosin is Roz-in not Ros-en In American Football it's a field, not a pitch. What can I say- feeling pedantic.
