Allowing cheaters to keep the prize they cheated to get, only shows that it works and all you have to do is wait out the controversy and it still doesn't matter. Ends justified the means. You're a champion!

I was at a cross country race back in 2016, and I remember being a huge disqualification for one of the racers because they threw a shoe at the racer behind them, the racer who got hit was my best friend since 1st grade, so I was obviously upset about this but luckily the other crappy racer got in trouble. @PrimePal They're hoping there will be enough plays between the time they cehat and the moment the referees/umpires/judges are informed and call them out that by then whatever advantage they gained will outweigh the one cheated play being invalidated. For instance, a football player faking an injury and earning his team a free/side throw that results in one goal. The judges then realize the foul play only a minute after the goal has been scored, and they're likely to still not invalidate that goal because it wasn't a *direct* consequence of the cheating, despite being facilitated by it.

I got a good one for you: The 1982 Germany vs Austria soccer game, also known as the "Disgrace of Gijón," took place during the second round of the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. The game was played on June 25, 1982, and ended in a 1-0 victory for West Germany. However, the match is remembered for the way it was played, rather than the result. Germany needed to win by a margin of one or two goals to advance to the next round, while Austria only needed to avoid a three-goal defeat to qualify. As a result, the game was played in a cautious and uninspired manner, with both teams appearing to be content with the 1-0 scoreline. The situation was exacerbated by the fact that the game was played after the other match in the group between Algeria and Chile, which Algeria won 3-2, meaning that a 2-0 win for Germany would have sent Algeria through instead of Austria. The lack of attacking intent from both teams led to boos and jeers from the crowd in Gijón, as well as criticism from the media and footballing authorities. The game has been widely regarded as one of the worst examples of unsporting behavior in the history of the World Cup.

I love how the Americans refer to the world series for something that only affects the US.

Not only is it not just America but Canada too, but it’s just the name of the series. Are the “Worlds” track competition or Olympics always for every European or world team? It’s a “regional worlds” whatever title. People are regional, and I don’t think that the supposed “World Cup” includes the whole ball-hit community. C’mon now a lot of people suck, it’s not an American thing.

@@jameshughes6670 The Olympics includes pretty much all countries in the world and the Football ⚽ world cup includes all countries in the world as well the only difference is that they compete in all regions to qualify for the actual world cup, all countries aside from a selected few (like the Olympics includes every countries single continent that have people living on it) actually get to try to become part of the main event. With the US events call "the world event" usually is only north America but from that only Canada and the US that they have international players doesn't make it the "world" event. And one last thing in Football ⚽ every cup that isnt the world cup actually called after the region they play in. TL:DR The US uses the "world" term incorrect because usually only one continent and one country participates in the event.

Fun fact: both Maradona AND Rossi were caught cheating on even a bigger scale. Tax evasion for MILIONS. And both went away with with a slap on the wrist. Once a cheater, always a cheater.
