Athletes Who Were Banned From The Games For Cheating, Or Even Lost Their Olympic Medals...
Subscribe: goo.gl/Hnoaw3
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Athletes spend many years training to take part in the famous Olympic games in order to win honor for their countries and some shiny gold medals of course! But some of the competitors have acted downright dishonorably and been caught cheating! There was such a systemic issue that it got Russia banned from the 2018 games and it looks like they might not get a chance for a comeback in 2020 either! Figure skating is a graceful sport, but when Adelina Sotnikova won many people believed something suspicious was going on. Nesta Carter got caught cheating and it not only impacted his career at the games, but ended up having serious repercussions for celebrated runner Usain Bolt. Not all scandals are as bold as the one involving Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan; some athletes like the German luge team chose more subtle ways to rig their events in their favor. Sometimes the consequence of getting busted is having to surrender your medal, but for runner Marion Jones, the penalty was far worse. And it turns out illegal practices aren’t just limited to humans! The Norwegian equestrian got disqualified thanks to Tony Hansen and an extra ingredient he fed his horse.
What do you think about these competitors who were found out red-handed? Do you think any of them were innocent or do they deserve to have their medals taken away for good? Let us know what you think about these situations in the comment section below and then click on the subscribe button to get access to more great videos from us here at The Talko.

    You have no idea, some kids got into a fight in the boys bathroom broke several stuff, ever since then the bathrooms are locked and you have to ask a teacher to unlock it even if you have to relieve yourself(there was a time I literally peed myself) and if the teachers forgot to unlock the door you have to hold it and come back when they remember to unlock. So they will unlock it, you use it everyone gets out and then they lock it again

    I still cannot forget the moment Adelina unfairly won the gold and Kim Yuna got 2nd. Her performance was so blatantly inferior to Yuna's performance and people were so shocked about the results. Her scores were so inlated and the moves that she did were so half-assed but she was given full points for them, or even re-classified into moves that are more difficult to execute, thus gave more points, and yet she never did those moves. The worst part, she still gets to keep the medal that she doesn't deserve.

    @@xxshineyourlightxx1998 Nah, I don’t think she would’ve medaled. If it was completely fair judging, they would call out Adelina’s multiple jump mistakes: 1.All of her toe jumps had full blades entries. 2.Her toe loop had a forward entry and was underotated. 3.Her double loop had 0 ice coverage and like 2cm in height and shaky landing. 4. Her lutz had a wrong edge and full bladed entry with maximum prerotation. 5.All her jumps were excessively prerotated with little height, flow and smooth landing. None of theses mistakes mentioned were called out by the judges. In comparison, Mao Asada of Japan had more than 5 errors called that were rightfully called but not called when it was Adelina making those mistakes. As for PCS, Adelina’s PCS score 2 months ago where she performed the exact same routine received about 10 points lesser than what she got at Sochi 2014, meaning if the judges were fair, she’d be down 10 points in PCS. And her step sequence is level 2, which is a lower level than like the top 10 skaters.

I haven't watched tennis recently so I may be very far behind crowd etiquette now or why England would ever chant at Wimbledon. The U.S.A. is relentless on home soil at gymnastics competitions. The "U.S.A. - U.S.A. - U.S.A." chants that never end should be punishable. It's done while other competitors are still competing and it's both dangerous and inconsiderate. Besides being a massive fail, it was also incredibly cruel. Those horses are their livelihoods, in show jumping the horse is the one who does all the work and carries it's rider, without the horse's hard work the rider would have no glory. "Doping" a horse in any way is the antithesis of good horsemanship, which is all about bringing out the animal's natural talents. These horses who do so much for their riders deserve to be treated with respect and always handled with utmost care, not abused for selfish greed.

    Yuna is a legend. It's such a shame that the entire world had to watch her get robbed of her gold. And such an embarrassment for Adelina. I mean she basically disappeared right after the Olympics because she knew her performance was nowhere close to a gold let alone ANY medal. Russia basically ended her career when she's so young and could've had many more years in figure skating.

    Something was forgotten. During the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Chinese artistic gymnast Dong Fangxiao and the rest of her artistic gymnastics teammates won the bronze medal. That same year's U.S. Olympic Women's Artistic Gymnastics team was left in 4th place. During the 2008 Summer Olympics, there were several controversies involving a few Chinese women artistic gymnasts. They were suspected of being underage to compete. About a couple years later, it was discovered Dong Fangxiao was 14 years old, and passing for 17 while she was competing in the 2000 Summer Olympics. Thus, she and the rest of her artistic gymnastics teammates were stripped of their bronze medals. The medals were then awarded to the 2000 U.S. Olympic Women's Artistic Gymnastics Team.

    Simple solution for uniforms...the IOC provides them for all competitors. The only difference between the umiforms is the colours. That way they all have the same technology engineering behind their uniforms and can still compete on a level field despite one countries wealth over another.

  • @scotth6814

    @scotth6814

    Why treat this differently than other sports? In yacht racing or car racing, it's the country that has the best technology that wins. Don't know about skiing, but surely not all the competitors use the same brand of skis? What about running shoes? And then there's training. Some countries can afford to spend millions on training their athletes, and some can't.

  • @crittaable

    @crittaable

    @@scotth6814 but in those sports there are rules in place to stop technology and money dictating the medals. U can't have certain yachts in a yacht race amongst numerous other rules...race cars have limits on weight, tyres, engines, horse power etc...in running there's also rules regarding shoes etc. Issuing everyone a standard uniform means u don't have to constantly implement rules for countries who either try to bend the rules or develop new technology so u then have to constantly write new rules for the new technology developed. It's easier, less vulnerable to cheating and rule bending and makes it down to the athlete and removes one more variable that may dictate an outcome.
