I'm still trying to accept this diagnosis. I have no idea why at 38 I've developed such severe anxiety without any traumas or life events. I'm still reluctant to accept it but after 10 ekgs and an echocardiogram and labs and chest xrays, I still wasn't prepared to accept it. This video is a blessing, and even more is the people in the comments sharing their experiences. Thanks everyone

Has anyone else’s stress/anxiety caused eye aches, eye strains and/or sensitivity to light ? I’ve had my eyes checked and everything looks ok, but it’s been a concern of mine. I find it very difficult to even watch TV these days without having pain in my eyes. It’s also something that I haven’t heard other people with stress or anxiety mention. So I’m just wandering if others have experienced the same issues with their eyes ?

Brother, I'm like that every morning. Every day I experience bad feelings, anxious, anxious, negative thoughts about illness and death every day, can't stop those thoughts, my heart is unhappy every day, my body is never fit, I feel very sick, so it's hard to smile, lazy to talk and socialize because I always feel unsettled and restless, always worried about my health, when the road feels awkward, can't focus, always looking for info on symptoms on Google and comparing them, increasingly anxious, weight loss, body weak, no energy, sleeping not qualified, and there is no interest and motivation to do activities, the feeling of always being uncomfortable is a symptom of what this is really about🙏🙏🙏

Your dedication to helping others is truly remarkable, and I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude. Your content has not only educated me about anxiety, but it has also empowered me to confront my struggles head-on. The impact you've had on my life is immeasurable. I naturally have an extremely strong fight response in situations and with my chronic anxiety and depression results in me being extremely sore all the time and physically tired.
Also chronic pelvic pain...aka "headache in the pelvis". Classic mind-body symptom. Chronic back pain too.
I've struggled with health anxiety since 2020 after a series of 3 panic attacks, each of which landed me in the ER. Since then I have come to accept my diagnosis for the most part. I must say, your content has made me go from believing just, say, 85% to now 100%. I kid you not. Discovering your work has felt like a gift from God at a time I very badly needed it. Other content creators have helped quite a bit as well, but word-for-word, you have described the exact things I've felt and addressed them in the most digestible and useful way. THANK YOU.

you had anxiety for 30 years?
I feel very worried about that as a OCD patient... I have felt them all, but the ones i feel more concerned are the ones related to bathroom (Going to much to the toilet or blocking in the toilet). I just to the toilet too freequently and i am also feeling bloated. I am worried if that can be another terrible or worst disease.😢.
Hi, im 18 years old and I've been dealing with this since August 2022, when one day I got a lot of hives and they would not go away for like 3 or 4 days and then I began to have trouble breathing at night and at around 3 in the morning i could no longer take it so I told my mom. She checked my blood pressure, and it was extremely high, and I was shaking uncontrollably. She then gave me a pill that she takes for hypertension, and that helped which allowed me to sleep for at least 4 hours until it happened again. Then she told me to get on the treadmill, and that kind of helped. Then she ended up taking me to the clinic and the nurse made me fill up a form of questions and then she checked them and a couple of minutes later she told me that I had anxiety and that me not being able to breath well was one symtom. Since then, it has continued to happen but not that bad. A week later we started school and when I went up the stair to go to my clas si began to have trouble breathing and my teacher saw me having problems and she also said that it must be anxiety that I was dealing with. Since then, I have thought that I had cancer like leukemia, ovarian cancer, and cancer in my lymph node because I have had a swollen lymph in my neck for about 5 years. I thought that i might have diabetes, kidney, or liver disease. I also though I might have had pcos, endometriosis, or ovarian cancer because for the past 3 or 4 years I have been having irregular periods to the point where I only get them every 3 to 4 months and sometimes every 6 months. At the beginning of January this year I began to have itchy skin that would not go away so then I bought hydrating moisterising lotions which helped after using them for 3 or 4 days and using for the first 3 or 4 hours after applying because after that I noticed that even after applying cream my skin a few hours later it would get itchy again. Now it is februray, and there are days in which my skin gets very itchy but not as it did in January. Other symtoms or things that I have noticed in my body are these red dots it my skin, which i think are called petechiae and the first thing I thought was that they were something caused by a disease. I do remember getting them since I was younger, but I know it is something that bothers me. The reason is because now that I have been struggling with anxiety or with what I think is anxiety I have been looking at them more often, many times in a day and I have notices that they have been on my skin for over 3 or 4 weeks. I have also been asking and getting reasurrsnce from my mom or siblings. I feel like I have been having more hair loss than usual. Since then, almost every day, I'm googleing for symptoms, and it is getting very frustrating and tiring. I have also been feeling like fatiguef and tired, for example i can be walking and buying at a store but after 10 or 15 minuted i begin to feel tired and or weird, like dizzy but its not dizzyness. I sit down and a couple minutes later i feel better and a little more with energy.I have also been finding it hard to keep up with school, like my homework and a college class that I am taking that my high school offers in a program called dual enrollment. I have been working out every day or doing a section of yoga for the past 3 or 4 weeks, and I have seen a bit of improvement, or maybe it's just my head thinking that. * I'll probably be editing this comment a couple more times as I continue to remember what symptoms or things have been happening since this whole cycle started. ***Hopefully, you can see and reply to this comment and let me know if it is anxiety or health anxiety. Thank You. 😊

Hi Melissa. Sorry to hear of the difficult time you are having. The constant thoughts of having a disease and frequent reassurance seeking are very consistent with health anxiety. Skin conditions particularly eczema and hives are very common and usually harmless. Hives are a bit of a mystery that even doctors don't really understand but they are usually harmless. Hives often disappear on their own. (I had them for 8 months and they disappeared about 4 months ago). Its hard to say if anxiety causes skin problems but it can certainly make them worse and they often first appear at times of stress. If you treat the anxiety you might find that the physical symptoms become less severe. Can you access a therapist.? CBT can really help reduce health anxiety and its important to get help when you are young as it gets more difficult the longer you have had it. If you can't access therapy you will find lots of videos that teach CBT in my Health Anxiety playlist. kzread.info/head/PLLLHgjmNNVTF5PT0N3sTulqL2JOfggva5

Hope you're well. I too have struggled in the past. I've been helped by following a daily course of diaphragmatic breathing. I'm a chest breather which has added to my physical pain as we're not supposed to breath from the chest. Diaphragmatic breathing helps to activate the Vagus nerve which helps to relax the body. It's hard to learn at first but if you remind yourself to diaphragm breathe for a minute or two at a time, a few times a day, you will eventually start to change your breathing pattern as the diaphragm will get stronger. There are videos on KZread which instruct you on how to do this.

Thanks for the video. I will definitely checkout your other videos. One thing I don’t understand is that these so called anxiety attacks are supposed to put you in good stead to run or fight tigers. I don’t see how. I can barely walk without feeling like falling over and the only thing I can fight is the urge to climb out of my skin. It’s hard to put on your cape and fight when you feel like you can’t breathe.

One of the reasons that anxiety attacks feel so awful and decapacitating is that in a real danger situation you would be running or fighting. But with anxiety your body is still so it is completely unnatural. All that adrenaline and cortisol is not getting burnt off. The other thing to consider is that there is a third option in nature in addition to fight or flight. That is freeze. When animals are cornered they play dead. This isn't a them being clever its an automatic response to extreme fear.
I get numbness on my face and body, I heard it can be anxiety but no one seems to have it so that makes health anxiety worse. The weird thing is I’m not having an attack when it happens. I also twitch and have muscle spasm out of no where with no attack.

Not sure if it's anxiety or not but been suffering since 3 years with muscle spasms in back of my heard, then often feel hear palpitations and anxiousness & mostly trouble thinking or concentrating, & difficulty feeling coherence between what I am thinking and what I wish to speak, processing information when I am reading or doing things that require intellectual thinking like calculations...and feel constant heaviness around my head. Is this all part of anxiety?

@@ektaaasar how long you’ve been experiencing that? And up until now?

@ josh anthon it's been around 3 years now. It was much severe before symptoms like difficulty falling asleep plus having felt breathless & panic attack only once as well thinking I would faint or got a stroke or something. But from all the scans / MRI everything seems normal. Muscle spasms, heart palpitations and fatigue were a lot more severe then until I started taking some ayurvedic medicine which kind of have helped subside a bit but not fully gone. More issues currently with ability to think or concentrate at times & mental stress around head.
Drank too much energy drink at work about 6 months ago and felt dizzy and had a panic attack. Had to quit that job due to vertigo. Turns out it is just anxiety. Been watching videos like this for a week already feeling better everyday. I suggest everyone watch videos by Claire Weekes she really lays in out well how to get better. In short, accept your symptoms and push through your comfort zone. Good luck everyone it does get better once you figure out what is actually going on.
all syntoms ypu mentioned i experience for years now.

I have all of these symptoms 😢
i am also facing all . Taking beta blockers bp still flucating whole day. Too much anxiety stress
I had my first panic attack when i was in the 3rd grade. Ever since covid camr I've had it worst.
I feel a weird sensation like a vibration or tremors in my legs mostly at night when not moving my legs. I sometimes can't sleep at night. I do feel some of these symptoms but I think I worry alot just because I have been watching lot's of videos and of course sometimes there is someone that's gonna say something different.
Currently what I'm passing through, i get this palpitations at night and when i wake i find my body shaking, my hands and legs. I get this cold palm and feet. Makes sleeping in the after to be my worst nightmare because i will wake disoriented, anxious and weak sometimes. It all started when my doctor made some diagnosis of me having brain tumor after every test carried out, i don't have none. But the shock is now in me making me to excessively conscious of everything in my body, i browse etc lol. Its not fun at all.

Hi, doctor. Your videos are a very big help to me. Finally Iunderstand and know now what to do. Just one question.. is it ok to deliberately expose yourself to one’s “triggers?” So as to train your mind or body not to panic in such situations?

Yes graded exposure is used in the treatment of some anxiety disorders and phobias. Which type of anxiety do you struggle with? If its panic disorder I have a video on graded exposure for that.

God bless you, doctor!
I would like to describe my case. I had a catarract surgery four moths ago. I had a very stressful period before during and after the surgery because I had to take some decisions about the durgery. Now I have a big problem with eyelids spasms and contructions especially in the sunlight. I visited 4 specialists opthalmologist they say the surgery is ok there is no inflamation and nothing to cause these eyelids twiching. One said to me that perhaps is because of anxiety and I hsve to calmdown and not to worry. I also feel pain in my backmuscles and I dint sleep well. Are all these and mainly the eyelids spasms and contructions symptoms of anxiety? Please help me
Wow. Wish I had this vid avail to me a year or two ago.
