2 Things a Cardiac Examination Needs to be Complete
In this video I will explain today many patients are getting an incomplete cardiac examination. A coronary calcium score, also known as a heart scan, is vitally important together with a metabolic syndrome workup in the evaluation of cardiovascular disease. The traditional workup of a stress test, echocardiogram, and routine lipid blood tests is inadequate cardiac examination on its own. Knowing whether you have coronary calcium and risk factors allows potent lifestyle changes and dietary interventions to be made.

All we need to do is listen to this God sent doctor; listen to his dos and don’ts, and know that ACTION is key He has surely given us the information to try to restore our health. We just have to hope that we haven’t waited to long. Some, like myself probably should watch his videos daily to make sure it sinks in and is a constant reminder; in ways its kind of like “ repetition being the mother of skills” but the right way to phrase it escapes my mind right now
Excellent video. I'm 61 yrs. Old. A runner. I've run almost 10k miles. I've never had health issues in my life. After some DNA finding I decided to get a calcium scan. My score lead me to a cardiac ct which found I have heart decease with 35% blockage in the LAD. I would have never known. My calcium scan cost 100 dollars and 10 min of my time. Everyone should have the scan done.

I am a Nurse Practitioner. Love the lessons by Dr. Jamnadas. However, Insurance will not approve these tests unless ordered by a cardiologist. Pretty crazy if you ask me. They are so important. So much of what we do is dictated by insurance.

It is crazy how insurance companies will cover the disease but not the prevention. My husband's PSA test levels continued to show increases. His dad and brother both had prostrate cancer so although he was under seventy we had concerns. Our insurance company would cover PSA tests more than every two years, so we paid for them. I did call the insurance company and suggested they look at the things they waste money on. I told them cancer is much more expensive than preventative testing. Sure enough, he got prostrate cancer, so it was good that we paid for the tests ourselves and caught it while it was still contained in the prostrate..

I had an MI in Dec of 2019, my cardiologist didn't do a calcium score or a metabolic workup and didn't even care that I was prediabetic. I studied on my own and decided to start Keto, lost 27 lbs, got my A1c down to 4.7, started supplements to reduce coronary calcium (D3, K2, and others) and exercise daily (walking for 40 mins). I recently asked for a Insulin Resistance test and it showed that I was at 12 (33 is prediabetic). I now requested a CAC test (my cardiologist wasn't even sure what it was) and will go in tomorrow for it. I wish Dr Jamnadas was here in Phoenix. Thank you for all you do and share with us.

@@captainadams7569 Since I first wrote this over a year ago, I have increased my walk to an hour and half (5.5 miles). My weight holds steady at 175 lbs, which I consider the perfect weight for my height (6ft). I previously suffered from Ulcerative Colitis for years and the symptoms for this have completely disappeared for the past 2 years (since starting keto). I do regular intermittent fasting, and HIIT training when I walk/jog. I am no longer taking the plant sterols or the K2+D3 as my diet gives my body what it needs. My BP is perfect and my ketones are solidly in the optimal range. Keto is the way to crack the code on good health.
My Dad died suddenly as you described, here today gone tomorrow. You have just enspired me to take a deep look at my lifestyle. Thank you.
Thanks for the information, my Dad recently had an angina event, we were scheduled for 90 day blood work the next week. The dr set up a CAC test for my dad and myself…… Dad score was off the chart at 8749 and mine at 0…. This should be a stark wake up call to anyone who doesn’t manage diabetes as my dad did not….. Once I inherited that wonderful gene from him I have been aggressively attacking the condition. This was my 2nd CaC test with zero on both now 4 years apart. I share this with everyone I know……
All my mother had was sharp pain in her left arm pit that kept getting progressively worse which was ignored and passed off at a local ER, it wasn’t until my father, threatened everyone with a lawsuit that three hours later they took her seriously, it turned out she had 5 blockages that were 90 & 95% blocked. They immediately prepped her for surgery. After surgery due to her having gone 3 hours without treatment they gave her 5 years at the most & she passed 5 years to the day November 12th, 1986. She was also type 1 diabetic since she was 16. There’s not a day goes by that she is not missed. She was 50 years old when she passed. 😢

I learned more in this video than I have learned from my cardiologist and surgeon(CABG) in the months leading up to my surgery and the year since my surgery. They told me after the surgery (95% blockage on the widow maker) that I still had a 75% blockage on my right artery. The surgeon told me not to delay having a stent put in, but my cardiologist said he won't put one in until there is 80% blockage and he would check me again 12 months after my CABG! I have had mild chest pain on and off since the surgery and have been to ER a couple of times. If they did the calcium and metabolic tests I am not aware of it. I think I am going to look for another cardio doc.
I wish that my mom and dad had this doctor. I wish that my husband had this doctor. My father might still be alive. And my husband probably would never have had a heart attack.
Dr. Jamnadas is Brilliant. He truly cares about his patients.
Great info and Dr. J is so right. My older surfer brother, not a ounce of fat on him, was getting chest pains while surfing what would be his very last time. A week later, he went to get stress test and had double carotid artery stroke during the test that almost killed him. They did not give him ANY clot busting meds in fear of the clots going to brain and killing him. 3 months later had scan of the carotid arteries at a vascular surgeon office, and by some divine intervention, they saw NO blockage in the carotids. 6 months later when he was better recovered from the double stroke, he went in again for the heart scan and the next day he had quadruple bypass, having 2 arteries 90% blocked, the others 75% blocked. I am still amazed at how he had all this happen and how he recovered. Sad thing is that he avoided doctors and did not take any BP meds as he knew we had very high BP genetically. Me and my other bro had been taking small BP meds last 10 years. Anyway, somethings defy logic but watching Dr Jamnadas is amazing and his instant recall of what he knows is also very wonderful, truly a very, very smart man, I am lucky that he is near me and I probably will go see him soon to get a thorough check out. He is the only doc I have seen to list his prices on his website for procedures and also lab work. I have lab blood work to get done and was not able to get actual cost to me from the lab, even with my insurance!!! What a scam they run! I think it said on his website that they got so tired of dealing with all the different insurance payment amounts, they mainly do only cash pay labs and for a full CBC, the cost listed was 33 bucks!!!!! Thank You, thank You Dr. Jamnadas!!!!!!!!!! Happy New Year!!!

Just went into a cardiologist. My general doc was frustrated because I wouldn't take a statin based on High LDL and Trigs. So I went carnivore and am fasting (use to do keto). I've lost 15 pounds and will stay on until I get my BMI to 22. I did a barrage of my own tests (CRP, ApoB, LDL(a), insulin) through Quest Labs. I have high markers for all but insulin--which is great--I've used fasting for years to avoid Type II Diabetes. After seeing the cardiologist he told me, I could have stopped testing at LDL. (UGH) So I asked him for a CAC. Cardiologist willing to make referral but only if I'm open to taking statins. Otherwise he says it s a waste of time. And BTW insurance doesn't cover it!! So setting up a CAC appointment. Did Ask about the new - PCSK9 inhibitor instead of statin and doc says he can only prescribe that if someone is resistant to statins. You had no symptoms yet you had a ct scan, that showed 90% blockage and your artery is stentable. I have 50% in my mid lad, and 70% distal lad. My problem is my artery is to small for stents. My only hope is to stabilize my blockages through diet, medication, or have bypass surgery. It’s almost as though being in good shape was a curse and blessing for you. Being in shape saved your life (blessing) you had no symptoms at 90% blockage because you’re in shape (curse) I had symptoms with my blockages. I’m also in pretty good shape and eat a well balanced diet. Mostly fruits, veggies, nuts beans, and whole grains, daily intermittent fasting for over 3 years straight yet I have this condition. Be well.
I guess it's fate, or just good timing, that I found your channel this week doc. I went to my cardiologist last week for a yearly checkup. I asked for a coronary artery calcium score, and he said I didn't need it. Just basically dismissed me like I was an idiot. And in the same visit, he says he knows I have calcium, because the ct scan shows it, and everyone my age has some plaque. So I leave with a prescription for low dose statin and low dose aspirin, and no CAC score. This is why people like me have a hard time trusting the medical establishment. I guess I just need to move to Florida!
I had symptoms of no energy , totally out of breath and sweating just doing nothing . All when it was 40 degrees outside . This went on for a week here and there . I hope this Cardiologist doesn’t mess me up !
I'm so happy to have discovered you. I now understand so much more about my condition that was never really explained to me by my Cardiologist in the last three years and four heart attacks later. Thank you doctor. Very eye opening.
You are a great doctor!! I love all of your videos!!
Thank you for this video, Sad thing is rather than the general population thanking you for sharing this life saving information, many will just whine about how they can’t make the changes you recommend.
Thank you that you care! I heard it is common that lots people have IRBBB, Incomplete Right Bundle Branch Block. Are told it is normal and they are ignored, and no further testing done! As in Diastolic dysfunction.
Doctor you are amazing ! Thank you for this information , May God bless you !
Incredible video. This Doc is a rock star.
Was helpful and loved the emphasis on dietary change vs meds.🙏
Excellent explanation. Very thorough. I am now more aware, thanks to you for being generous with your knowledge!!
So happy to find your videos, thank you for your compassion caring spirit . Physicians are taught to diagnose and treat patients, not so much to teach folks how to remain or be healthy. I’m a believer that we should be advocates in our own health. We get a manual with a vehicle telling us how it runs and how to maintain to last . We should know how our bodies work and how to maintain good health. We need more physicians like you. I have always kept copies of my yearly labs and compare them from year to year, it’s my manual, usually the nurse calls says we got your results doc said it’s normal. What I see is my lipids increasing, so before I get a call I need statins, I watch my diet keeping in check. I’m having medical issues now testing next week. I wish I could have you for my cardiologist, however you are helping by educating me to ask questions. So thank you for that. God bless you truly beautiful man ❤
Amazing Doctor.
Excellent presentation! Thank you.
Great info. I’m watching this and yoking notes before my cardiologist appointment today. Thank you!!
ZERO (0) calcium score does not mean no blockages!, you can still have soft plaque which could be shown on CT coronary angiography. Other than that this is a good informational video.

Doctor PJ explains the subject in a way that anyone can understand easily and at the same time take it seriously. His desire to spread awareness of the hidden dangers in matters related to cardilogy is a great great social service . I am sure many are being benefitted by viewing his videos like I am. He is like the sun among many stars.

Just had my calcium scoring done!
I have just discovered Dr Jamnadas here in New Zealand. You ask for these test and you literally have to beg even if you have health Insurance or pay. There are so many people needing these test
This lecture was really good.
Showed what we really need to know. two thumbs up.
I love this guy!
Great info. 59yrs old hit the weights 4 days a week for the last 28yrs. Dad died at 89 last year with diabetes and hearts problems. His Dr recommended siblings take the CAC test. Kaiser Dr useless so I got a referral from a cardiologist for free and paid 71 dollars to have it done. Very cheap especially here in California. Test showed zero. I've been fighting high triglycerides for the last 3 years so this was reassuring. Watching my carbs taking many supplements and kind of doing carnivore eating for last 2 months along with IF 16/8 M-F. DHEA and pregnenolone daily has also helped me big time; for us seniors lol.
I am in the process I’ve checking my heart condition. At the VA hospital. This will be helpful to me; thank you
One more passionate health reformist🙏🙏🙏
I've been watching and listening to him on his videos and he makes so much sense I've and explains things my own doctor doesn't I just recently made some good changes in my diet based on his videos I want to add vitamin K2 to my regimen but am afraid because of my high blood pressure that only shows up at the visits I'm really learning a lot from his information
Excellent presentation clearly and thoroughly explained.
Thank you so very much, doctor! 👍👍👍
Wow, I wish all doctors explained this as well as you do! I have had these tests. I am in big doo-doo, and I have made those changes and continue to strive for better. But I am in big doo-doo. sigh. Stress test was yesterday. I failed. Thanks for doing what you do!
this so so so great! thanks for making things simple and easy to understand!
Very good videos keep them coming

@@hollysrarechromojourney3882 Thanks for replying. There is some confusion in his suggestion regd fasting. If you fast for a day periodically, say for every 4 days once, that is intermittent fasting. Another method is 16 hour gap for breakfast, after your last meal yesterday. Which one he recommends ?
6 ft 160 lbs regularly exercise, 8 months after a TIA stroke no blockages found, I had a massive heart attack, 99% blockage central heart artery. Seems they missed something. Now recovering from heart damage 30% functional and blood clots in my lungs and DVT left leg.
