I love that you mention the gum disease connection to heart problems (blood stream). I have suffered gum disease most of my life (I'm now 72). I have always managed it assiduously, but it persists with it's loss of bone. The reason I am glad is that since I was about 40 years old one often hears wispers about this situation. I've never heard any doctors just come right uot and say it, Same for dentists. And if I have any complaint about the dental industry and care, it is that having suffered from this gum disease for more than 50 years, it seems to me that not very much research has been done on the problem. That is to say that I would hope more effort would be applied to a potential really affective intervention for gun disease. Aside from various hygene practices offered by dentists, they seem to have nothing to offer other than antibiotics when there is a severe acute case.

I had surgery that added bone to my gum line at about 35 years of age. After that, I floss daily without fail. I visit my dentist every 4 months for 2 regular cleanings and a deep cleaning. I have been taking K2 for a year now and my latest cleaning was amazing. No tarter on my upper teeth at all and very little on the bottom. The hygienist kept talking about the GREAT job I am doing. My cleanings really changed after I started taking K2. I only received antibiotics for a few days after the surgery.
