For my vote, keep the beer donations, let us participate in that vicarious way. And don't worry about episodes being edgy or fresh or new. We just enjoy you doing your thing. It doesn't even always need to be stealthy. Just low tech camping with Steve makes us very happy. Please, please, stop worrying about these things.

The reason I started watching was the stealth camping, but the reason I keep watching is the low budget that's affordable for almost anyone.

@@raven4k998 yep exactly, he finds a way to make it interesting either way. When I go camping I'm not looking to spend a fortune on all new stuff. Just looking for the adventure and easily made meal ideas like Steve does. I couldn't stealth camp alone like him bc I'm probably more paranoid and would need a buddy, but enjoy watching him do it.

Can tell it's cold by the sound of the snow underfoot. That sorta squeaky styrofoam sound. Northerners know. Sends chills up the ol' spine.

I liked the subtle pauses "it's only.. borderline.. dangerous". He's the stealth camping captain Kirk. This was the comment on top so I was waiting for it and it did not disappoint 😂

I love that Steve is trying to be as stealthy as possible but his car beeps when he locks it, announcing his arrival to the neighbourhood.

Dude, it’s literally parked right there with footprints making a trail to his spot. Anyone stopping by at night would probably be checking that he’s ok in the weather. It’s all good, though. Just Steve hanging out behind someone’s work. I want to send him a video game or iPad or something though. If I thought he’d use it.

With my 2014 Toyota you could manually lock the doors and then close the doors to avoid that HONK HONK ... STEVE ya listening? 😂 Haha

One of the best parts of these videos is when steve checks out if his campsite is visible cus he gets so stoked when its well hidden 😄

The first video I saw was the tragic heartbreaking news of your loss. I now am catching up and exploring your videos. Now, I am a 68 year old woman( from the US, live here too) . Not a camper at all, must admit I lean more to comfy yet modest rentals of typical modern comfort. I also am wheelchair bound with one leg. I share this to say I marvel at how fascinating, educating even, caring, …so many things that your videos are proving to be for me. I also enjoy learning more bits and seeing areas of Canada as I had hoped to have traveled A LOT More in beautiful Canada than I have. Thank you for all you do, and I am so glad I found the channel and subscribed. Very well done and you are a natural narrator, a documentarian . Ongoing wishes for comfort and peace ..what one can possibly carve out in your path.

Steve, something to remember about 99% of the people driving are not looking for someone/something hiding out in the woods. Heck most drivers are not even watching where they are going.

I wholeheartedly agree. Sure, the camping stuff is cool, but KZread is full of that. Reflecting on this, Camping with Steve is a bit of a slice of life for me, where I get to see how Steve overcomes struggles in life and pushes forward, with amazing humility and an incredible heart. Keep it going Steve, this channel has made a big difference for me in these trying times!

I agree not to go for patreon, I adviced one creator not to go for patreon, but he insisted because people said it will be good for him and his channel. I my self noticed one day that I don't look his videos anymore for unknown reason, and so has done near 5000 others, He usually had around 10k views and now it's around 5-6k. And I like to read the names rolling on the screen

These videos are so calming I love them. As someone with severe insomnia they've actually helped me feel comfortable enough to sleep. Not to mention the quality. Big contrast to the other channels that are 50% intro and filler and littered with promos. Love it, keep up the awesome content Steve.

For what it’s worth, you’ve never come across as panhandling. Not even close. This channel is very organic and we just love what you do.

It's 33 degrees and 97% humidity right now and the sound of Steve walking in that frozen snow makes me feel cold.

Steve is basically the urban Les Stroud. Steve's videos also coincidentally give me the same nice calming feeling I get when I watch Survivorman.

I love the beer donation and the special messages people post! It makes it so communal and builds community. Please consider keeping it - no other KZread channel does this. You rock, Steve!

Personally I like seeing the names of the beer donations. It keeps the channel simple, which is part of the appeal. Keep up the good work Steve. Thursdays are a tough day for me and I look forward to coming home and watching a CWS. it's therapeutic.

One video he was in a residential area, so he wore a suit and carried a "briefcase", only it wasn't a briefcase, it was a big old suitcase.... Point of the story is, Steve isn't the king of inconspicuous hahah I think he gets noticed/found more than he realizes, but most people are just to awkward or weirded out to actually approach the area, especially in Alberta.

To be honest I didn’t chip in to see my name, I did to express my thanks for the joy you bring me and to invest (albeit in a very small way) in what you are doing at home and out on the road. I don’t think it would hurt your channel in the slightest not to have the shout outs but I think people greatly enjoy supporting this kind of content!

Kind of sad to see these older videos when your life was bright and shining, Steve. I hope you will come back from grief stronger and with more dedication to life than before. Great content as always! By the way: I guess an elevated bed would be better in these conditions.

I always admire those little pockets of wilderness we have even in big cities here in Canada. Camping in one seems right somehow. Thank you for the video.

Sits in the Paw Patrol chair and is pleasantly surprised, then sitting there staring into the camera, "Oh the joys of stealth camping, a little bored after sitting here for hours trying not to be seen." I almost cried from laughing so hard. Thanks Steve. Reminds me of playing hooky from school (Skipping school) for the first time with a friend. We sat on the roof of the boy scouts building by a very busy road all day, it was about 8 hours of sitting there trying not to be seen, while being thirsty, hungry, and just a tad bit bored lol.

It reminds that taking initiatives to do things ridiculously fun, but terrifically uncertain, is a special gift to oneself for the audacity of it all, and to us in being a party of it too! Thank you also for doing a two day stint, something I commented on once. You really do read these posts, don't you! It's truely audacious to have the tent out and up for two nights running!!!! The child's chair was a great comedy relief.LOL What ever you decide on the matter of patronage is truely your choice. I love this channel. The content is so compelling I am drawn in and feel like I am there. I can almost feel the cold, the warmth and relief of the campfire, the enjoyment of nature.

It never gets boring watching steve stealth camp. It's very relaxing actually, at least to me it is. Thanks Steve

Steve, Your videos have helped me a lot. I struggle with PTSD and with that comes anxiety and fits if panic. Watching your videos, the calm demeanor, the interesting genuine person you are always put me at ease. I look forward to every new adventure, interesting meals and creative ways of using equipment and your surroundings. Thanks for sharing your love for camping, adventure and the stories. In a world that's going increasingly crazy (in a bad way), your videos bring a little bit of fun, a zany sort of good crazy to help us counter all the negatives that keep filling the news. I can't thank you enough for that. I do admit to finding the stealth camping episodes a bit more stressful than the other types, just because I always end up worrying about what would happen if you got caught. If you ever find that you need to cut back on the stealth, I would still be perfectly content with regular camping, traveling, rafting and whatever other adventures come your way both alone and with Beautiful Wife and/or Crazy Neighbor. It's all good. As for the Beer Donation, it's your decision. Doing it the way you are might be more work and/or pressure than Patreon (spelling?), or it might not. Which method you can handle is up to you. But please don't think that you don't deserve the support. You spend time, energy, money and resources doing what you do, and sharing it with us so we can enjoy your experiences. This is so important to so many people that the Beer Donation did develop just by people reaching out to you. I wish that I was still in a position to donate myself, because you're one of the few people that I would reach out to in gratitude. Being in the public eye means that no matter what you do, or don't do, or change, or keep the same, there's always going to be a few who object. This is exactly what a Camping with Steve video should be. Not what people are "looking for" but what Steve does in an odd situation. I caught you at the (camping while going to school) stuff and they remain my favorite.

Gotta hand it to you Steve for randomly camping outside in those frigid temps! The buddy heater is a life saver! In high school we made hibachis from cans (looked like paint cans but obviously never held paint) and used them to cook lunch on a day hike. Might be an idea for cooking in a future video :)

Steve!! The beer donations are so unique, I love seeing everyone’s names on the screen. There is an old-school feel to it which I also love. If we have to wait and there ends up being a TON of beer donations for some videos - so be it it’s no big deal! Most of your viewers like and prefer this way more 👍🏽

@@anitamiller7960 I can understand that, but people should also understand that just because there are lots of names it doesn't necessarily mean Steve is getting a ton of money from it. I've donated really small amounts before.

the fact that you were camping in extreme cold and the whole time you're just like "yup i'm bored" means you're really good at cold weather camping.

I absolutely watch an episode every-night as I’m winding down for bed

I know this is 9 months late but I really enjoy watching your videos. It is calming and makes me want to consider doing stealth camping in the future...which may depend on when my kids become old enough to watch themselves to some degree...and my marital status...who knows. I'm glad you had someone who supported you. I wish I could say the same.

I am not encouraging divorce. I just want to tell you, from personal experience, that if you don't do what is right by you and the kids (kids are so much more perceptive than what we think and they need to see and perceive and happy and healthy Dad) you will end up sick. I got so sick that even thinking about regular camping is now a threat to my life. I may be an extreme example But, it is true.

Hey Steve, I don't know if you still read the comments or not, but I really wanted to thank you for doing what you do. I know, when you started this channel, you didn't expect it to have such a substantial impact on people, but it's really become something quite special to me & a lot of other people. These videos are like therapy. Whenever I've had a bad day, can't sleep, or am struggling, your videos always help to calm me & put my mind at ease. Also, my girlfriend recently started watching them with me as well. ☺

Love how they marketed the stool "with the benefit it sticks in the snow to make it stable" and here in the UK they said "small enough to have a seat wherever you'd ever want one"

That buddy heater was really slick. I've never camped in the snow so I'm liking this winter snow camping episodes.

It might be a long shot but I'm waiting for the time when a commuter drives by and shouts "hey Steve"

Almost every night before sleeping I watch one of your vids with one beer and some sandwhiches. It relaxes me and makes me forget about my daily problems. I am thinking of trying stealth camping myself.

I like how you’re not a pro at camping and don’t pretend to be. You do all the goofy stuff I’d do if I was camping. Love watching your stuff on KZread

Honestly if you just went around to old stealth camp spots and made different food and a different shelter, I am still going to happily watch since it's a new, fresh video. Remember how unprepared you were for the culvert? If you made a part 2 of that one I would watch it so fast

Another great video Steve!! Even with the technical problems...the light thing made me chuckle. You really shouldn't feel like a pan handler. You do a lot of hard work making these videos. You put yourself out there and your honesty makes the videos worth watching to the end. I hope it wasn't too much of a pain cleaning up the rental car's back seat. You truly are a AWESOME distraction from reality these days. Thanks so much!!

😂 I consider NOTHING a technical problem w Steve, after the “Bubble Wrap” shelter that instantly blew away! He always manages to troop through.... even when he has to collect his tent in pieces as it turns into litter. Joking aside, I agree w you. I’m happy he got heat, though. It not worth risking it in those temps!

My workday is more joyful knowing that Steve may be hunkered down nearby in a hunting blind, keeping an eye on things. We love Steve!

We're in the same city and I'm in industrial parks regularly so I often look for Steve. The problem is that he's so efficient at being stealth I might drive right by him and not even notice.

I'm glad that you're testing out these activities. God help those that have no choice but to do what you're doing. No one plans to be forced to try this, but it's good to know how if circumstances give no other choice.
