I was one of the many who wanted him to step down and be succeeded by Jimmy Johnson. I apologize to fans everywhere for that. Johnson was a snake in the grass who STOLE $8 million from the team. Johnson won in Dallas because Minnesota gave him 6 picks for Hershel Walker. Barry Switzer won with that Dallas team. I could have coached it and won! When Johnson wanted to quit after '98, Shula, a part owner, wanted the team to hire Marty Shottenheimer, but Johnson suddenly agreed to come back and bring in Dave Wannstedt just to stick it to Shula one more time. Johnson didn't want Shottenheimer BECAUSE Shula did!

vccstudents Really? I never heard about the Shoes-Schottenheimer saga. Honestly, though, I think that Don should have been fired after the 1992 AFC Title Game loss at home against Buffalo. You just knew that the Shula-Marino combo wasn't going to get it done after that. Also, I think that Marino should have been traded to Atlanta for Deion, Chris Miller, and a second-round pick. He was almost traded to the Raiders in 1990, but that wasn't the time. After this loss, I think it was the time to move on from both guys and start over.
