The IRONY is if Randall Cunningham or any mobile QB is at QB in this example the play doesn’t work. The cardinals simply didn’t think Bono was a real option to carry the ball. Another important factor is all the cardinal players on that side of the play not only fell for it they literally FELL. That’s why Bono was so alone deep into the run.

This is an excellent point -- the 46 was already a hyper-aggressive defense, but with Steve Bono in particular, it would have been effectively impossible to keep him honest on that play.

33:17, The commentator clearly has Krieg’s stint with the Chiefs from 3 years earlier imprinted in his head. Add to the fact that Krieg himself was on the opposing team in this game.

They wasted a legendary defense on the offensive ineptitude of Marty Schottenheimer, hampered by a GM who didn't know how to build a team through the draft.

The other thing that never gets talked about is the excellent play-fake by Bono. QB's usually ham it up so bad that it ... well, looks fake. Bono's was understated and relaxed, just as an actual handoff to Allen would have been.
