I don't think I ever saw the Chiefs and their fans so excited, even during any of their playoff or Super Bowl wins in the Mahomes era. Arrowhead in the '90s was a special place to watch a game.

The A's were finished after Game 2 - they were a volatile bunch that didn't get along with one another and they lacked the collective fightback to rally back and make this a series.

This series did a lot of damage to Jose Canseco's reputation and it never fully recovered. He was an A-list sports star on par with the top players in the NFL and NBA at the time. La Russa and several other A's criticized his pathetic effort on the fly by Hatcher in the 8th inning that cost them the game, he played terrible outfield and batted .083 in the series culminating with getting benched in G4. He had a blase attitude about the whole thing that gave off the impression that he didn't really care.

Seahawks stadium, or its later name, Lumen Field, is STILL the loudest stadium! (I know. Game was played at Arrowhead) Yes, let’s not forget that although the late great Derrick Thomas had an NFL record seven sacks, Seattle still won the game! R.I.P DT!!! 🙏❤️🙏

If you're nieve enough to think he'll be reinstated, there is a very legitimate case for Shoeloess Joe's innocence in the 1919 scandal... He has yet to be reinstated posthumously. Pete Rose has overwhelming evidence against him and FINALLY an admittal and apology. He will NEVER be enshrined in the HOF. .

When this game aired originally, I didn't get on the radio until all the scoring was over with. But Mike Moore's high ERA coupled with the Reds tendency to always score runs for Browning, I knew it would happen. Actually after game 2, I knew it would be a sweep. I would have put money on it. After game 2 they had beaten Stewart, beaten Eckersley, the A's couldn't get Billy Hatcher out. And I had forgotten how good a 3rd baseman Chris Sabo was. He was Brooks Robinson Junior in this game. In game 4 when Stewart beans Hatcher in the first inning, I knew they were really desperate. It was still a close game and it ended with a great pitcher's duel.

This game was five days before the game Fernando threw his no hitter as well as Dave Stewart for the A’s. I attended Fernando’s no hitter in 6/29/90 at Dodger Stadium and got some autographs on my program from Jim Gott, Rick Dempsey and the late Mike Sharperson.

Seeing Myers back in 1990 with longer hair and no mustache like he previously had with the Mets. Reds had a “no facial hair” policy by Marge Schott back then.

The 1990 Miracle Reds. Perhaps not as dramatic as the 1969 Mets worst-to-first, but the composition of the teams was similar. You had two "superstar" players in the lineup in Larkin and Davis, but the whole team contributed up and down the batting order, Duncan, Oliver, and of course the immortal Billy Hatcher. I've been watching other games from the 1990 regular season and Hatcher was always in the thick of it. Even in this game how many outfield plays did he get? 7 straight hits with a pair of walks bookending nine straight times. This is one of my all time favorite games. I KNEW the Reds would sweep after this win. Can't say how I knew, but I believe in momentum. Two of the greatest managers ever up against each other, two great teams. I'm disappointed the post-game interview with Jack Armstrong wasn't included. I think he returned to his early season success just because the Oakland hitter had never seen him. LaRussa probably didn't expect to see Armstrong as a starter, or even as a middle reliever. He wasn't a Nasty Boy but his 3 scoreless innings in the middle of this game were very important - he kept the Reds in it. Billy Bates had a very short career but what a notch to put in his trophy room? I called the sweep because Browning was up next and the Reds always scored runs for Browning, and game 4 looking to be a rematch of game 1, the Reds had already beaten Stewart and Rijo was in form. In game 4 the A's got desperate and beaned Billy Hatcher since that was the only way to get him out... lol. Unfortunately you can't ever have another season or series like this. Too many levels of playoffs, wild cards, pitch clocks, extra inning ghost runners and other stupid stuff. All of those throws to first base that come to matter so much when the season is on the line, and instead you've got penalties and a clock to rush the pitcher. The dynamic of the game has changed for the worse.

This is one of the greatest games between the Broncos and Chiefs. Back when the Chiefs and Broncos had a real rivalry. This was the #2 game between the two teams. #1 is the 1994 matchup watching Joe Montana and John Elway go at it.

I'm a lifelong Braves fan, but that opening - the picturesque scenery, the narration, the music - don't tell me today's is better than this. It was majestic then - and now. It made me want to buy a ticket to see the game in the cold between these two teams.
