Born and raised in Southern California, 65,000 actual miles. Starting with a clean sweetheart of a car, it was recently, professionally restored with upgrades.
EXTERIOR: No rust, original metal. We have pictures of it stripped to bare metal. Painted a gorgeous Aston Martin Casino Royal Gray. The paint is polished like glass! The jambs are slick. Weatherstrips were replaced. At first glance you would think the chrome is new, it's actually all original in excellent condition. Updated electronics for the sequential taillights. Rebuilt headlight door system. Polished 17 inch Shelby wheels with spinners on performance tires.
INTERIOR: It smells like a leather shop inside. Glove soft, genuine leather upholstery on the seats and doors. The seats have new cushions. Shelby style wood rim steering wheel. It has a retro stereo in the factory hole, kick panel JBL speakers and 6x9s in back. In between the bucket seats is a deluxe console with the "garage door" compartment. Bright LED interior lights. New carpets, headliner, and visors. The instrument panel is excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 302 runs smooth. Upgraded aluminum intake and an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, new MSD electronic ignition system and a set of coated Doug's headers. Features include power steering and brakes. It also has factory air conditioning that blows ice cold. It is very proper and complete. Original washer fluid bottle, battery is bolted down, it has a fan shroud. It has a few nice enhancements too: Cobra finned valve covers and a Cougar underhood filler panel.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are glossy. The trunk compartment is rock solid original metal. It has a BFG tire on a painted rim for a spare. It has correct plaid mat and a custom Cougar mat. LED trunk light.
UNDERSIDE: It has upgraded Control Freak suspension. In front there's new coil over gas shocks, control arms, balljoints and bushings. In back it has adjustable upper and lower tubular control arms and coilover adjustable gas shocks. The steering was rebuilt. Custom mandrel bent, tig welded stainless exhaust with X-pipe and Borla mufflers. All new brake system and it's upgraded to disc at all 4 wheels. New e-brake assembly. The fuel tank and sending unit were replaced. Looking up at the motor it has a Miloden oil pan, starter and fuel pump look fresh. The C-4 automatic was serviced. The floors are rust free original metal. Where the original undercoat has flaked off the factory primer is showing.
After our inspection the only thing we needed to do was replace reverse light switch! This car is dialed in. Turn key ready to enjoy.

😮😮😮👍 The '67 to '70 Cougar is my absolute favorite car of all times - and this one (and the asking price) is perfect!
My first car was a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 Marauder GT with a 390 cu. in. 4-V luxury edition with all wood grain dashboard, 4-toggle switches for the courtesy and overhead lights, 335 horsepower, stock version out of Dearborn, Michigan, sleeper, beige tone color, no vinyl top, all leather interior, 3-speed Select Shift automatic, style steel wheels, and a real cherry. I bought it in 1970 from a military guy who owned it for 2 years, put 9,000 miles on it, and it looked factory new. Such a sweet deal in 1970 for $2,650.00.

Nice Cougar! I had a 67 with a 289 in the 90's
That finish is so glossy it looks like it is two-tone as it reflects the black floor treads on the turntable. I had to go look at the photos to verify it is a single-color car. Gorgeous!!

I got one under a tarp. Most is original. But needs fully restored. Couldn't find anyone restore for me. Been sitting since 2009. Guy looked at! Dont know where keys are. Hmm

Beautiful non original Cougar. I don’t believe this is the upgraded XR7 model. Wheels and steering wheel are radical for the car.
Yes, it does appear to be a really nice Cougar but, just the same, would be wise to get a Cougar specialist (There's a guy here on KZread.) to take a bit of a closer look.
