    Derek is a natural for this Channel! His natural wit and humor are so welcome while his knowledge of rescue and restoring old cars is second to none. We have loved watching him work with his wife and boys making old cars look, well sort-of newish. At least they look a lot better than when he dug them out of their holes in the ground.     Had one like this but red, with the 200 & 4 speed. taught 3 girls how to drive with the 4 speed, they are in their 40s now and still drive standard shift vehicles. My youngest got a ticket for 115 mph. I was mad at her but proud of the car. Two of them drove it to college, it finally wore out, at least 3 clutches. A number of brake jobs, and always electric issues.

    I was pleasantly surprised by how similar in style this is to VGG. I'm glad they kept the same basic format as his own channel and didn't ruin it with being overly produced/scripted. I'm so happy for Derek and his family and wish the best for them on thier new adventure. You guys deserve it.

    I’m a big fan of VGG and enjoyed watching his new MT episode but I have to say Derek does a way better job entertaining and showing his mechanic abilities on his VGG show. If I had a choice I rather watch his VGG on KZread. But I’m glad for Derek getting his name out there.

    @@KeepingItKeith ......I find it annoying that he just tosses a removed item. Something like a torn spark plug wire or empty can of spray....whatever - O.K. But just tossing the air cleaner - with the wing nut - no sense in doing that. I have also been watching his KZread channel for years and have found some of his tips useful......the corny stuff does tend to wear thin. Good luck on the new venture - hope it can evolve.......

    Also probably takes 3 times longer to films since they stop and re shoot all the time..he probably does it maby 1 to times.. this probably had 50 takes. On certain shots.

    He doesn't have a network channel... Just a show on a network channel calm down little feller... Lol Sorry I know what you meant but wanted to clarify... He isn't "as rich as Oprah" 😂 and has his own "OWN"? Oprah Women's Network??? Heck idk... I know she has her own network channel but cant recall what it's called... "O_ _" something or other...

    Derek - Just for a moment there, on the wheels, I thought you were going to start singing Break On Through to The Other Side! She's a beauty, and there's no denying it. I am always so pleased Derek that you can see beyond the issues and the condition to what the true soul of the motor is, and how it can come back to life.

    His youtube channel is all about revivals.. he has a lot of videos like that where he gets em running and drives em back to his garage hundreds of miles away often.

    It was interesting to see how much work Derek did at the site to get the engine started and the Mustang moving, then driving it back to the shop vs. towing it to finish the basic restoration. Colorful, funny guy who really knows his stuff.

    Not only that, but often he injects family members (kids) or the whole family, thus a big respect for Derek for doing so! Personalities, can help make a show a popular one as well, and the kids are all learning the in's and outs of vehicles in general, from top to bottom!

    I love this, been following Derek since the early days. This show is awesome but I feel like they could make a couple episodes out of these and really show the world Derek and the family. He really is a genuine person who is comedy gold.

    I had a '68 and at about 41 minutes I relived it watching him drive down the road turning the steering wheel back and forth about 15 degrees to keep it going straight.

    The quality of Motor Trend programming just went up a bunch when they added this guy. His show smacks of integrity and it translates to happy viewers! VGG is hard to beat.

    Derek just has a way to simplify what he is doing to make it seem achievable. I am not sure how many mechanics and resurrections he may have fired off would love a lot more of these!

    I think what I like most about this ‘rescue’, is that it’s a common 6cyl Coupe. Something an average car gal or guy will find, and not some uber-rare numbers matching, limited production big block fastback Mustang barn find! 👍 Keep the cool, still accessible legacy and classic car / truck rescues coming! “🎶🎼🎵 Rattle Can Restorations!” 😂😂

    I like Jessica on the VGG episode, but having her come in Like The Stig, all silent, smadre and pull the ‘stang out, with a square body. And she really fed it the onions, and all tires blazing. Epic!
