Many people unknown to Derek's channel would say he's talking like that for the show, but those of us who watch his channel know that's just how Derek talks. I'm referring to the unique names he gives the parts and such.

Motor trend did one of the smartest things to get Dereck to do a show. Big Bonus for both.

Been watching your show for years, but noticed a lot of new things in the production that u didnt do in previous years, love the new touches n the show, u have come a long way with the show, I love the show Derek, keep up the legendary work.

Love it! I had a 64-1/2. Ive seen so many sitting and rotting. Great to see that one on the road!

Derek is a natural for this Channel! His natural wit and humor are so welcome while his knowledge of rescue and restoring old cars is second to none. We have loved watching him work with his wife and boys making old cars look, well sort-of newish. At least they look a lot better than when he dug them out of their holes in the ground. Congratulations Derek and family!

All i can say is that I can never get tired of watching Derek work on any cars or truck's.👍

I don't think they get any better than Derek's craigslist rebuild. That thing is smooth!!

Had one like this but red, with the 200 & 4 speed. taught 3 girls how to drive with the 4 speed, they are in their 40s now and still drive standard shift vehicles. My youngest got a ticket for 115 mph. I was mad at her but proud of the car. Two of them drove it to college, it finally wore out, at least 3 clutches. A number of brake jobs, and always electric issues.

I was pleasantly surprised by how similar in style this is to VGG. I'm glad they kept the same basic format as his own channel and didn't ruin it with being overly produced/scripted. I'm so happy for Derek and his family and wish the best for them on thier new adventure. You guys deserve it.

Having MotorTrend throw their weight behind the editing shows you just how great a job Derek does without them on VGG. Derek is amazing.

That guy is one amazing mechanic. His car knowledge is just unbelievable....

I’m a big fan of VGG and enjoyed watching his new MT episode but I have to say Derek does a way better job entertaining and showing his mechanic abilities on his VGG show. If I had a choice I rather watch his VGG on KZread. But I’m glad for Derek getting his name out there.

As a long time fan of VGG, that was a really fine episode. Thanks for producing it and getting it on KZread!

This was amazing. With a little love and elbow grease, a fella can do wonders.

I used to daydream in school about pulling a car out of the weeds driving at home this is truly an amazing show

I love how Derek is easing his personality on this new audience. Keeping the Derekisims mild and such. Very cool to see him enoying more success!

He needs to ease them back permanently. I started watching him years ago when he was in his garage building budget SBCs. Recently all his noises and sayings just get old. I couldn't watch any longer and I have multiple car buddies who all said the same.

@@KeepingItKeith ......I find it annoying that he just tosses a removed item. Something like a torn spark plug wire or empty can of spray....whatever - O.K. But just tossing the air cleaner - with the wing nut - no sense in doing that. I have also been watching his KZread channel for years and have found some of his tips useful......the corny stuff does tend to wear thin. Good luck on the new venture - hope it can evolve.......

I've been watching this on KZread for years now. Normally I'd be jealous but this guy and his family are as genuine as it gets and I'm thankful we get to see this stuff. I been doing this same stuff over 30 yrs. Never gets old

Also probably takes 3 times longer to films since they stop and re shoot all the time..he probably does it maby 1 to times.. this probably had 50 takes. On certain shots.

I really really really REALLY hope that Derek retains control of this show. I have been watching snd supporting him from years and years ago.

He's the most relatable host of any car show, to me and others I know. Hope Derick is getting a fair deal, he is worth a lot to the automotive entertainment industry.

Literally subscribed to MotorTrend TV on my Android TV after watching this episode in a hotel room while picking up a car in Texas.

The reliability of these old cars will never cease to amaze me! A modern car wants to die quickly, while the classics want to keep going.

This has become MY FAVORITE show.. this dude is the coolest , kindest guy and he only cares about getting it running well , not running fast..I love it !

His youtube channel is all about revivals.. he has a lot of videos like that where he gets em running and drives em back to his garage hundreds of miles away often.

Just goes to show how far Derek has come with his channel. the number one G DANG automotive TV program recognized his talent and charisma and had to bring him on

Looks good at first I was thinking this should be in the junkyard, you fixed it up and saved it

It was interesting to see how much work Derek did at the site to get the engine started and the Mustang moving, then driving it back to the shop vs. towing it to finish the basic restoration. Colorful, funny guy who really knows his stuff.

Love this dude!! VGG is one of the only KZread shows that keep my attention occupied longer than a minute! Love the way he simplifies and describes everything for us less than educated folk!

Not only that, but often he injects family members (kids) or the whole family, thus a big respect for Derek for doing so! Personalities, can help make a show a popular one as well, and the kids are all learning the in's and outs of vehicles in general, from top to bottom!

Congrats Motortrend! You are lucky to have a guy like Derek.

I always liked that style of Mustang, along with the fastback.

I love this, been following Derek since the early days. This show is awesome but I feel like they could make a couple episodes out of these and really show the world Derek and the family. He really is a genuine person who is comedy gold.

I had a '68 and at about 41 minutes I relived it watching him drive down the road turning the steering wheel back and forth about 15 degrees to keep it going straight.

Derek just has a way to simplify what he is doing to make it seem achievable. I am not sure how many mechanics and resurrections he may have fired off would love a lot more of these!

I think what I like most about this ‘rescue’, is that it’s a common 6cyl Coupe. Something an average car gal or guy will find, and not some uber-rare numbers matching, limited production big block fastback Mustang barn find! 👍 Keep the cool, still accessible legacy and classic car / truck rescues coming! “🎶🎼🎵 Rattle Can Restorations!” 😂😂

Tbh I think I prefer his own videos without the stupid music ontop and bad camera work. I don't really get what makes it "the big time", it's just another KZread channel.

I like Jessica on the VGG episode, but having her come in Like The Stig, all silent, smadre and pull the ‘stang out, with a square body. And she really fed it the onions, and all tires blazing. Epic!
