Abandoned 1964 Ford Galaxie Hasn't Run in 32 Years! | Roadworthy Rescues
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Derek finds a 1964 Ford Galaxie that's sat abandoned and hasn't run in 32 years. Getting this old sled running will be enough of a challenge, but Derek also plans to transform this Ford into a rally-tribute car and slide it around the back roads of Michigan.

Derek we bought a classic Mustang yesterday! 1965, my dream car! We are going to fix her up. I love watching your videos, I am helping get her fixed up and I have learned so much from you! Keep on bringing the thunder!
Wait what, when's the next episode on this one? I feel like I got all worked up and she left!!
Derek I sure hope you continue filming this project . I remember as youngster when that car came out. Back in the day myself and friends could name and date every new car that was produced. Gosh how I loved those days. They were just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. 🇺🇸👍. Artie

My oldest brother was like that, no matter what car it was he knew what it was with details. Sadly he passed away, the car community lost a great one there! He was also the "Clutch Man" for Don Prudhomme "The Snake" from the great Snake vs Mongoose days!!! Wish he was still here to help me set up a small tire no prep car!
Love the Galaxie. One of the best looking full size cars of the 60's...and there were many good looking full size cars back then. Look forward to seeing it run.
Hats off to the guy bringing up the engine.
I really hope the full episode goes on the VGG channel. This is one I want to see in its entirety

I need an hour of this...
I feel like it's a waste having Derek do a revival but only showing 20 mins of it. Maybe the intended audience is folks that wouldn't watch VGG but it sure would be nice to have the 20 min version and the "full" version ( not the hours and hours of raw footage obviously so I guess they would need to put in a bit of editing work still )

I love the way you teach the next generation that these old cars are not that scary to bring back to life so they can live on and look cool ... keep on trucking Derrick...😁👍🇦🇺
I hope we see more of this build. I'm not a Ford guy but, those 64/65 Galaxie's are an exception. C'mon Derek, don't tease us 😎

When I watch VGG I have my check list handy so I can keep up with Derrick. #1 Buy car on site, unseen = check #2 Always check trunk first = check #3 Raise the hood and hope the motor will run so he can get it home = check #4 always ignore and pretend all the things you don't want to see isn't there = check # 5 Always travel all the back roads you can possibly find so you wont draw attention to yourself = check

Wouldn't say no. A guy appreciates your efforts!
Really sweet built Ford 6 with dual fours?! That ‘64 Custom 500 is gonna rock and roll!
That car looks to be in exceptionally nice shape for having been sitting for 32 years.
A part 2 is to follow hopefully.
Clicked like before even watching. Seen enough to know a guy does a good job with the episodes…just need to be longer (longer the better).
"I hear bending - keep going." 🤣
Derick is truly the best. He puts a call out for a 223 and boom, he has one. Power of fan hood
A trick to shoehorning those long straight, six engines in is jacking the back of the car up higher than the front it helps it slide in

Truth
I know that you new it was a Custom, not a Galaxie, but it brings a nice memory-my Dad always bought the Custom-wen I asked him why he didn't buy the nicer Galaxie, he always said "The chrome and extra options were a waste of money"-thanks Derek!
VGG is the best channel .... period\
MOSES SANDALS, that's a fantastic looking 6er.
Thank you thank you for such a good and clean show that I don't have to worry about watching with my sons
Did Derek say, “flying across the state to have the drive shaft shortened”? Yes, definitely can relate to that.
My family had a 63 galaxie 406 tri-power four-speed. They had huge trunks!
They were great old cars. My sister had a 61 what a beauty it was, a convertible too. This was back in 1970-71
That offy cover is cool! Looked like a fun little thrash build!
I've always wanted one of those old Galaxy's 💥💥💥🙌
Holy moly that is A LOT of work crammed into 20 minutes. What a job!
Brings back memories my dad drove one like this when I was about 8
This channel vice grip garage and Carter auto restyling are my favourites awesome work
Dude that is sweet I haven’t seen a sweet looking straight six in years awesome 👍👍😎
Saved history one at a time
Not once did anyone say "Will it run and drive" . Great job, can't wait to see the finished product!
"I hear bending, keep going" Yup sounds right!
Heck yeah that engines looking sweet, my buddies had the 390 4 speed on the floor
More please. It ended like when the water stops spraying at the carwash but I can still see soap.😂
Now, we need to see it fly down the road. The body is straight with no apparent rust.
this car deserves it's own 2 hour episode. i'm 100% an olds guy. but, 63-64 fords are right up there!

Looking forward to seeing the next release. Would like to hear it run.
Looks like, by the trim holes on the front fender, that could be the Custom 500 trim package. My Dad has a 64 Galaxie 500XL that he bought in 1970.

Agreed. It is a Custom 500, not a Galaxy 500. Still sweet car though!
A beautiful body on this coupe. All these older cars need to be back on the road. Moving history. Cheers from Australia.
Love the overalls that match the engine block paint. Brilliant. Mike in Oz
It was great working with you and Paul on model A project at MC3 in Detroit a year and a half ago, keep it going Dennis.
One of my first cars was a blue 64 galaxy 289 4 speed. Brings back a lot of good memories.
I like this vid but I honestly miss seeing it drive out of the shop. Kudos Derek

What a great find I love 60's fords. My parents bought a used 64 galaxy wagon in 65 or 66. I have 3 brothers so it was way better than the falcon sedan that we were in. Later they bought a 68 country squire what a beautiful car, and the 64 became dads pickup. It worked really well because everything in the back was steel. I also built a big straight 6. It was a Chevy 292. I put 10 to 1 pistons, an hp cam, offenhouser intake with a holly 600 and Clifford split manifold headers. In would do high 13's in a 67 short narrow pickup. You can get some assume low end torque out these long stroke engines. This car needs to be built it's beautiful.

My first car was a 1964 Galaxie 500 station wagon with the fake wood and everything. I bought it from a co-worker of my mother's, for $200, in 1975. It was a real sleeper - someone had ordered it with the 352 V-8, 4-barrel carb, dual exhaust. A heavy sled, but it would leap at stoplights when I put my foot in! I had a lot of fun with that car... but only for a year... 17yo me learned a hard lesson that balding tires, heavy rain, and speed don't mix. No one got hurt thankfully, but I did shed a tear for the car.
Dude u gotta make longer videos
I love Derek's Vocab its perfect
I almost bought a 1964 Galaxy when I was younger, I’ve always loved those cars!
LMAO 😅 when you open the wing window and said hello, for some reason I kept expecting a possum to come out!
Derek. I love watching what you do .....keep up the good work . Aloha BRUDDA?!
I really like this car!
Been an auto tech for over 30 years and installed more clutches than I can remember. When he asked, "did that just happen, after everything lined up and the transmission just slipped right in it happy place, that was not scripted. It rarely happens that way. I can probably count on both hands the number of times that happened for me.
I feel like there should be a part 2..
Well I’ll be dipped! It’s Derek Bieri on motor trend channel! Awesome episode!!

Hi, Derek, It's been a long time since I've been on your site. I hope you and your whole family had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I've spent a lot of time in Michigan, (Detroit {ugh}, Grayling {yeah} and some in the good old UP {especially great for snowmobiling} and you've picked the best time of the year for that. God Bless and stay safe (and warm).⛄
Glad you found some help
Thank you for visiting my neck of the woods, hopefully you enjoyed the little snow we have.

Awesome car. My 1st (high school) car was a 68 XL500, Wimbledon white, BB, AC, PB, red interior. (I still own) Been looking for another one for years. Sadly I’ve never found one. This is an awesome Hotrod.
