Hurst's iconic last goal wasn't even meant to be a goal. Hurst just wanted to hoof it into the crowd and waste time so England would win 3-2. However, he mishit it and it went in the goal instead and he scored the only hattrick in a World Cup final.

There was no handball according to the rules of 1966. Based on rules of today it might not count since the rule is, that if the hand is involved, it's automatically handball. But it's quite new rule that was not there 1966.

@@delivery4458 the angle doesnt do it justice. Other angles exist show that the ball looks a lot closer to in than out, and its still incredibly contentious as to whether it fully went in or not. But since goal line technology wasnt around for another 45 years, The goal was given on the day and thats the way it will always be

The ball was just over the line and it was known back then, but you have to see the high definition movie film from ground level looking straight along the line and not from an angle, which does exist but has rarely been shown in documentaries. You cannot make a decision based on the fuzzy black and white TV pictures that are always shown, as the image is just not clear enough.
