Mickey Mouse surge tank! Those were known for massive electrical and vacuum problems along with weak front ends and hobbible brakes that would eat linings and drums. In 65 they went to front discs which solved the brake problems. That said, I love those years!

I love those years too. My grandma had a 64 T-bird that I used to ride in back in the day. She traded it in on a new 69 Ford LTD. Thanks for watchin'.
Bought a ‘65 Landau 2 weeks ago. Good bones, clean inside and out, good chrome. Downside : electric windows and seats don’t work, clattery valves, but gauges and speedometer work, all gears are fine. I’ve been out of town and the car is still at the mechanic’s for the past two weeks. They’re running tests and now that I’m back, I’m bracing for the news. I’ll report back.

Glad I can help! Thanks for watchin'.
Those were the days when dealers and others would install those protective strips on the sides of cars. They may have helped protect against door dings but they ruined the looks of the cars.worse yet they were often installed by drilling HOLESin the sided of the cars and riveting them on!
So, I bought a 65 hardtop (eBay) listed excellent in and out. Wish I had seen your video before the purchase!! It turned out to be nice in and out. Long story short, I purchased the car for 10k and will another 10k in it to get to be a driver quality. Live and learn. If you’re thinking about buying , don’t make my mistakes, do the research and this video is a good first step.

Sorry that happened to you. It happened to me once as well on E-Bay. I spoke to the seller on the phone for about an hour before buying and found he lied about most everything. I realized it as the transport truck was pulling up in front of my house. Sick feeling. Thanks for watchin'. Be sure to tell your friends.

@@up-n-runnin377 will do. Thing that really angered me is the car was listed as air conditioning, arrived with no compressor, clutch or belt lol. The list is long 🥲
I had a couple of '60's Lincoln convertibles. Bring your checkbook Like the Thunderbirds, they are beautiful. But the very devil to restore. Electrical problems galore

They sound like cool cars. I also had a 1969 Mark 3 that I made several videos on. Check 'em out!!! Thanks for watchin'.
Please make sure sellers of not-up-to-snuff classics drop their prices on their cars! Be a savvy shopper and don't keep letting that inflation keep our cars out of our hands ;) remember to nitpick more than a great aunt at a bar mitzvah

Thanks for watchin'. I agree, don't buy the first car you see. be patient. Know the ins and outs of the car you are looking for and don't be afraid to walk away.
Worn front end, wheel bearings replaced, and an engine rebuild? It had 130K on it

Thanks for watchin'. I agree with you. I shot this shortly after I bought the car and the more I looked at it, the more I think it had more miles on it. I now think someone drove the heck out of it when it was new and then very sparingly after that.
