Bought a 65 Landau 3 weeks ago. It was owned by a young woman who had recently divorced (husband bought it about 2 years ago for her as a birthday present and she’s wanting it gone). It sat undriven since last August in a garage. I drove it before buying - clattery valves, power windows are inoperative. Gauges work, speedometer is true, interior is very clean, good chrome. I don’t know the last time it had anything done to it (just sitting as we know isn’t good for it). So it’s at the trusted mechanic for diagnostic tests. I know it’s not a new car, I told the woman that when I first looked at it and I don’t expect something out of a home garage to be concourse. It was a reasonable price -kinda low because she’d divorced the gift giver - so I don’t feel taken. I’ll let you know……

That’s why I’m happy with the dude who sold me my 65 Mustang a couple months back, he was honest about there being 2 small bondo spots and one stage paint. Everything else was in great shape so it was no worry and the guys honesty really helped make him a sale.

Hi Guys, thanks for the video! I just bought a 65 TBird described as excellent in and out…big stretch! So, long list, but I’ll keep it to the expensive stuff… factory air but no compressor, clutch, pulley or belt…$1,500 to 2K in parts and labor. Power seat non operating…$375 parts $300 labor “small tear” drivers seat…$325 labor and material, sloppy steering, iffy power windows (they work sometimes), speedometer numbers are unreadable and lack of power (think it might be carb and possibly distributor). Some good things though, body straight, crime very good, paint 7out of 10, interior is really good other than the driver’s seat issue Gotta say I still love the car and bought it anyway. It’s in the shop having the suspension looked at and sloop in the steering wheel (fingers crossed). Then Monday a look at the lack of power (have receipts for a 2016 rebuild, so hope it’s carburetor or ignition, fingers crossed) Thanks again, even the pros can get fooled by unethical sellers.

This video gets a thumbs up from me, solely for the Reagan/Bush 84 hat :-) Also that "noise" you heard when shifting is most likely the torque converter. They were notorious in the column shift automatics, especially with the Q-code 428.

@@BulletmotorsportsInc I know y'all know what you're doing :-) I'm just an old man who's trying to help. In case you didn't know, in the 60's Ford had alot of problems getting transmissions so many C4's went into cars that needed C6's, but even the C6's had bad converters. So many people see a "nice body" & don't even think about the driveline.

Sounds more like the vacuum leak. It is likely at the parking brake pedal. If the brake is engaged it should release when you take it out of park on the gear selector. If this doesn’t happen then that’s the leak

No she's been working well. I've had one oil leak which was fixed with a replacement part. And the bendix on the starter motor snapped due to the cold winter. But apart from that she's great, loud and a head turner everywhere I go. But the 7mpg sucks and in the UK I costs Atleast £85($120) to fill up which I do twice a month.

I can appreciate the disappointment in getting a bad car off of eBay...it has happened to me more than once. With me, however, the cars weren't that expensive, so I realistically couldn't have expected a lot. Nevertheless, they were NOT as described by the seller. Fraudulent people selling cars is a bad scene. I'm sure that the buyer in this case paid a lot more this Thunderbird than I did for my old drivers, so I feel his pain. I've only bought one car off of eBay that turned out to be a good deal, and three or four that were big disappointments, so no more eBay car purchases for me.

BulletmotorsportsInc same thing happened to me, I bought a monte SS and consignment dealer in Mississippi said it was ready to go no leaks, it comes to my door and it was leaking 3 areas for oil, transmission and axle. The alignment was so far off you couldn’t even drive it. But the 4K video sure did look pretty. I told them I would leave a negative review so they paid for half leak fixes. It was leaking on truck when not even being driven
