That was a great episode. Seeing Data smack down his 1st officer in that episode was epic.

That officer should have been relieved. Data went well beyond what another other captain would have done.

@@fyreantz2555 Bit of a misstep. They should have taken out the element of the XO being prejudiced and kept the resentment at having someone brought in over his head. I base this on 3 things. 1. Both were the same rank, but Hobson was Command track, while Data was Operations. 2. Hobson knew the ship. 3. Putting Data in charge smacked of nepotism by Picard. All 3 of these points are valid IMHO, Hobson being bigoted against androids seemed designed to make him the bad guy. Data saved the day so these points are wiped out but prejudice aside, I do have sympathy for Hobson.

The fact that Cmdr. Data utilized a Starship that had no functional Main Bridge, only a sketchily working Aux. Control, he made use of a more durable Starship.

WOW 🤯 all this time, I thought the Sutherland was destroyed at wolf 359. Just asking, what about the radiation cleanup in the torpedo bay after Captain Data fired at the three Romulian warbirds?

What happened to Captain Shelby after the re-fit? Did she command a new ship? It would be interesting to see her history in Starfleet.

Interesting how this refit ship got a new registry when the Titan got an A suffix for being a new ship made with old Titan parts. It’s a great design. I just wish they had redressed the Enterprise bridge instead of fiming in what looked like a hallway and closet. They could even have used the battle bridge claiming the main bridge wasn’t yet repaired from battle damage.

the USS Sutherland was named after one of the ships commanded by Horatio Hornblower in CS Foster's series of novels about Age of Sail naval adventure. Hornblower was the direct inspiration for Gene Roddenberry for the characters of both Captain Kirk and Captain Picard.

Fantastic series BTW. "Ship of the line" is my favorite in the series Horatio really gets to come in to his own with the ship, man power, and freedom to enact his plans with out someone getting in his way. The name Sutherland is the reason I watched the video. I didn't know Roddenberry used him for the basis of the captains? Picard I can see. Wrong nationality based name, quite, calculated, and cunning. With the exception of Kirk's out of the box thinking, he's far to bold, brash, and loud to be a stand in for Horatio. Do you know of episodes that would change my mind? I like star trek but haven't watched every episode or even a full series. I have read hornblower more times than I can count.

Rather than saying "Starfleet's Starfleet" which is repetitive, you should say the Federation's Starfleet...or if in a pre-Federation time such as the NX-class, Earth's Starfleet
