Actually, it makes perfect sense, as warp drive, transwarp etc all require the regulation of Antimatter... And since Antimatter can only be regulated by one thing, Dilithium, that means it would be required for any system using that power source. You cant just wake up and say, oh today I will invent a new power source, and then achieve that, especially since the Matter/ Antimatter reactor is at the top of power source chain. So really the only thing unimaginative here is your comment, as it doesn't take in to account the reality of the situation at all!

Lysander or Centaur 2? Well the Centaur was a lighter version of the Excelsior. And we got the Excelsior 2, so the Lysander uses Excelsior 2 parts with Centaur sizes. ... Shouldn't it be Cent... Lysander is fine.
Too bad the Yeager 2 didn't have that fork nose in the primary hull as it appeared (sort of) in the intro. That would have been a good divergent design aesthetic for S31 going forward. Certainly better than the arching gaps in previous models.
I have a feeling that Confederation technology was not superior to Federation technology at least up until their TNG era. By that point they had the technology of other races in the quadrant they acquired by conquest. Although that access to technology was likely limited via how that conquest was done. As Confed seemed more trigger happy in destroying civilizations more than even the Empire. Technically that means that even the Terran Empire might have been technologically superior to Confed for a time. As even the Empire incorporated races that joined them willingly or unwillingly and that technology was shared if a little bit at gunpoint, better tech when the ones that created it can still create it.
Ah, you really did a nice nice job with this one. She looks absolutely great! What a mean ship. Although I prefer a main round deflector on the secondary hull (I love the look of the two dishes on the NX-refit) I love everything about it. But the idea of having two baydoors there is actually very logical.

I wonder what a 32nd Century Kirk class would look like in the Confederation timeline.
Now we want the Confederation version of the Dreadnought class.

Awesome job on the custom design man! I must say I really dig it a lot. I love how it's got the SNW Enterprise look to it but at the same time adding your own elements. I also love the look of the nacelles. For the story line as usual it's top notch. I have wondered where you have been lately. You came back with a bang that's for sure.

Yes I'd love to see a story perhaps even a parallel story on Kirk's 5 year mission perhaps you could do a short story set in 3 Series that cover the original series three seasons but do a parallel to it for the confederation that would be very interesting and fun I'd even be willing to help you write it
