This is an inspired idea for a video series. Thank you for doing it. I'm greatly anticipating the Voyager one, as I always felt they needed a truly great villain for Janeway.

@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics I agree. I really enjoyed it. I even enjoyed when Lower Decks went back to DS9 in a couple off episodes. I specially liked how Rom and Leeta have become a lot more savvy, but then, they are running an interstellar nation now so they have to level up. And the best part is that it's not out of nowhere, for Rom at least. We saw him evolve on DS9 and this seemed like a logical progression. DS9 always felt like it was the best show in terms of character development in all of Trek.

Very enjoyable. i have to say that i am glad they went with Kira over O'Brien for the Cardassian switcheroo, but i would've loved a crossover with TNG and DS9 even without an epic battle. i get why they decided not to, but man we missed out!

IMO DS9 never got the credit it deserved. The casting was great. The writing and character development was among the best. When you have a cast of varied species all together in an orbiting station, your writers have to fully understand who these characters are and properly develop them. I know there are some who might disagree with me on this next statement m, but I never felt that the writers of Voyager fully developed the characters to their full potential. I always felt the only character who the writers really seemed to develop was the doctor and he was a hologram lol. You could watch DS9 every week and see the different characters becoming a team, crew, and most importantly building interpersonal friendships and relationships together. By the end of DS9 you could really see that every single character in the show had been elevated to someone better stronger and wiser than they were when the series started. That only happens when you have quality writers who not only understand the characters but the traits of the actors who are portraying them. I think one of the best examples of this was the character of Garak. On the outside a simple tailor who was excellent at what he did. But the writers were able to craft a mysterious deeper story underneath his seemingly simple exterior. I mean, let's face it. You don't get to be a member of the obsidian order unless you have shall we say, certain talents. The writers would occasionally give us glimpses of that which always left you wondering who Garak really was. Just absolutely a brilliant understanding of that character by the writing staff.

What would a DS9 cast movie been about? The first Idea that comes to my mind is Kira interacting with the Wormhole Aliens/Prophets, meanwhile the rest of the cast is fighting some kind of renegade Jem'hadar Thinking about this works better as a two-parter

I think thats probably way too generalized and not entirely accurate... DSC was about War too, LD is about Infrastructure etc So its not exactly unique for that reason... I think what makes it far more unique is how it fleshed out so many secondary characters, making the main cast of the show feel like dozens rather than 7 individuals...

Truthfully, Voyager is the real black sheep of Classic Trek. For Nutrek, it's Discovery. Yeah, the whole Cardie O'Brien thing didn't make sense. The man was on the FLAGSHIP OF Starfleet regularly getting examined. Even in a rundown starship like Voyager, Seska got found out. Cardassisn medical tech isn't THAT good. Never mind the man had a KID. There is no way all that can work. In a way, DS9 was the most Roddenberry of all Trek. Because it shows that his ideals were worth fighting for. Worth killing for. Worth dying for.

  • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

No, DS9 always was, and still is the black sheep of Old Trek. Genes vision wasn't ideals worth fighting for, it was that humanity had already overcome all of its short comings. Go back, watch Season 1 of TNG and listen to ANY Picard speach and youll see that... Gene even went so far as to say humanity doesnt grieve anymore... In contrast DS9 showed that although we made progress, humanity was stilll wrot with flaws! Definitely not Genes ideals! And as for Cardassian Med Tech, you're just completely wrong about that. Even when Seska was found out, the Doctor explained how difficult it was for him to discover her true biology, so in future please do not make up facts to support an argument, take care!

@@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics I supposed if your criteria is "different" then I agree, that's a black sheep. But I still felt Voyager tried to be different too and it went in a direction far more divergent than the original vision did in some ways. It certainly was poorer but I'll acknowledge this point. DS9 is very different, and that's what made it stand out. I guess I was just thinking Voyager was the poorer made show of the two. DS9 still seems hopeful in some way despite how dark it got, and that was true to Gene Roddenberry's vision. Things still felt like they worked out and improved, but more than any other Trek show, it felt earned. The characters went through hell after hell for those lessons and everyone became the better for it.

My view isn't "different," my view is the established view of the majority, the actors and the production team of DS9. And unfortunately, you're just wrong with your view, not understanding Gene's vision... Try watching the "What we Left Behind" documentary, to better understand this topic, take care!
