    As a young Trekkie, playing with the Micro Machine Star Trek ships they made in the 90s, I used to pretend I had a massive ship museum orbiting a planet, with all my ships laid out however I decided they should be arranged (read; little me carefully arranging them until I decided a battle needed to take place), seeing the Fleet Museum in the show brought back a piece of my childhood I’d forgotten for a while

    What were thoughts on seeing the Enterprise-d in Picard? I nearly choked up and cried seeing her. She looked amazing in HD. They really did her justice. Then there was the score they used. Truly perfection of the highest order.

    @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComicshonestly....they should have finished refurbishing and upgrading her, and re-christened her the G. Clearly she is still a MORE than capable starship if it can still fight the borg, and it would have felt more full circle. for a ship designed with expansion and upgrades in mind and a 100 year lifespan, it's kinda silly to retire these ships.

  • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

    Disagree Jon-Michael 100% and here's why. First, Starfleet had nothing to do with it's refurbishment. It was a labor of love by Geordi, so what would give Starfleet the right to swoop in and say "we're taking this now that you've done all the work on a piece of garbage we decommissioned." If you took a garbage car from a scrap yard, restored it to it's original condition, do you think that the Original Owner could come and take it from you? Second, you are incorrect with the statement "Clearly she is still a MORE than capable starship if it can still fight the borg" She could fight the borg because the Borg themselves were only a shadow of what they once were, only operating at 38% That hardly makes here capable of fighting the Borg that are at 100%. In fact we've already seen that she cant multiple times, See TNG's "Q Who?" and "The Best of Both Worlds" And those took place LONG before the Borg themselves had adapted to various introduced technologies seen in Star Trek: First Contact. Lastly, Naming the D, the G would be silly fan service. Starfleet doesnt look backwards for it's Enterprises, it looks forward. And placing it in the Fleet Museum as a hero starship, was the absolutely right move!

    I dont think the class truly ever got disrespected... Reporting factually on her stats and downfalls isnt disrespect, and nothing in that episode has changed what she could or couldnt do. She fired as many Phasers and torpedoes as she always could (see Best of Both Worlds) and the only reason she could go toe to toe with the Borg was because of the Borgs weakened state, so you should keep all that in mind! :) And thank you so much :)

    I wonder if civilians get to tour the ships, rather than just admire them from the outside. Are there school trips to the fleet museum, with teachers shepherding kids around the hallways and corridors of Voyager and the Enterprise-D? (I think those would be my top picks for visits.) "Alright, kids, we'll go take a look at the bridge and engineering, and then break for lunch in Ten Forward. Remember, it's a big ship, it's easy to get lost, so don't go wandering off."

    Here’s an overlooked ship that deserves to be at the Fleet Museum: the USS Bozeman. The ship was pulled 90 years forward through time, continued to serve in Starfleet and participated in the Battle of Sector 001. If there was a ship that deserved to be remembered and preserved, it was the Bozeman.

  • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

    @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

    Жыл бұрын

    Im not sure I agree with that... Just because a ship is pulled through time doesnt mean it deserves to be a part of the Museum. In fact, given her short history in her own time period, Id say no. Besides, Canon suggests she was refit and put in to active duty, see Star Trek: First Contact!

  • @RandallFrequentFlyerFlagg

    @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics Read my comment again. I said she continued serving in Starfleet after the time-jump and was at the Battle of Sector 001 (which happens in Star Trek First Contact). Sure, just being pulled through time alone wouldn’t be notable on its own but it is very notable that the Bozeman continued serving long after being displaced in time and fought in one of the most critical battles in Starfleet’s history. Why does the USS Lexington deserve to be at the Fleet Museum when it is only notable for its participation at Sector 001 and not the Bozeman which was at the same battle and notable for more?

  • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

    @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

    I've learned, after years of doing this, to quote my sources for my belief, so the reference I made was merely me doing that rather then a reflection on your comment. As to the rest of your new comment, you are making far too many assumptions. "Why does the USS Lexington deserve to be at the Fleet Museum when it is only notable for its participation at Sector 001" how do you know that's the only important instance in it's history? You dont, and obviously, since it is included in the Fleet Museum, it wasnt. And since the Bozeman is NOT included, we can infer that it didnt have a substantial or notable career either!

    I love me some Occam's Razor, but I'll admit in my head, that Defiant is the original wreck salvaged from the Chintoka system after the war and patched up. Warhead, nacelles and aft section could be saved and the middle would be totally rebuilt. Makes more sense than taking the replacement that was in precisely one battle and putting it in the museum. And what would be protecting DS9 if that were the case. The only ship missing is the Rio Grande, but it's also small enough that it could have been inside the museum.

  • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

    @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah, that's not possible, even head canon must give way to actual Canon AND Logic :P In the episode the Defiant was CLEARLY destroyed and completely unsalvagable! Also NO one said it was taken and placed in the Museum right after the war? That would be a massive, and most likely incorrect assumption! And actually makes no sense at all!

    There is one ship that would be tragedy if she's not be a part of the museum: USS Endeavour, NCC 71085. For one, the Nebula class is a superbly versatile design, but also because the Endeavour is the only ship to have fought at both Wolf 359 and the Battle of Sector 001. And survived (My head canon is that Nebula seen on screen in First Contact is the Endeavour herself). She survived the Dominion War as well, and with the Nebula's being fairly large and combat-capable ships, she likely saw plenty of action then as well, so the Endeavour is obviously an utter badass ship and worthy of being part of a fleet museum hosting some of the most historical and notable ships in Starfleet.

Though I image the ventral section of the Enterprise Ds saucer had to be completely rebuilt since it skimmed across the surface of Viridian III taking out a lot of alien trees along the way, which means the only thing that is originally the Enterprise D is the dorsal section of the saucer section.

    You know. My opinion on the Enterprise-C has changed. From watching Yesterday's Enterprise, it might had just been a set up for Tasha Yar to return at a later date. Too bad the producers never bothered to bring either Lt. Yar or Sela back in the other Trek series. I still feel that the episode Yesterday's Enterprise could had been handled better than the end result. A good example was not killing off Captain Garrett. Second have the Enterprise D follow Enterprise C in the time rift, along with the Klingon Bird of Prey in persuit. From there, the battle would be from 4 to 1 to 5 to 4 against the Romulans at Narendra III . The Enterprise-D would be destroyed protecting Enterprise-C and the Klingon Outpost. If the Enterprise-C was at the Fleet Museum, next to Enterprise-D, that would be a great set up to tell the story..This would impress the Klingnons moreso because the Enterprise-C went into the future and returned to bring the three Klingnon Bird of Prey (and Enterprise-D)to battle the Romulans. What sense would a destroyed Enterprise C be if the Romulans destroyed the Klingnon outpost at Narendra III. There should be a Ambassador Class star ship at the Fleet Museum. That ship should be Enterprise-C...

    I take it you dont understand Klingons very well? In Klingon Culture sacrificing yourself to save a fellow Klingon is one of their highest honors. Therefore, the sacrifice of the Enterprise-C had a far stronger reach then your idea ever could! And the fan service in your idea is far too unrealistic and actually goes against all of Trek Canon that we know about IE Not interfering in Time! With the reason the Ent-D didnt go back with the Ent-C directly stated in the episode itself!

    @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics The destruction of the Enterprise-C wasn't shown onscreen. The time stream gets changed all the time. Nothing is ever set in stone when it comes to Star Trek. Yesterday's Enterprise was all about giving Tasha Yar a better send off than the first time around. In retrospect, They should had sent her packing to Star Fleet Intelligence instead of killing her off. I still feel that the only ship that was sacreficed is the alternate timeline Enterpirse-D when it followed Enterprise-C in the time rift along with the three Klingnon Bird of Prey. 4 to 1 odds becomes 5 to 4. The Enterprise-D gets destroyed and all of its data information gets transfered to Enterprise-C. The question is why did the timerift happened in the first place if the Enterprise-C was to be destroyed? To give Tasha Yar a better send off. Unless we see the Enterprise-C destroyed on screen, the ship lives on, along with Captain Rachel Garrett, who should not had been killed off to begin with.

    Again, Im sorry to say, but your idea is horrible! First off, we dont need to see the Enterprise C destroyed, to know that it was... First the episode itself says it was! Then other episodes such as Redemption P2 says it was... The Klingons say it was, ST Picard says it was, all of Beta Canon says it was... etc etc etc Second, you dont ruin a great story for fan service! Yar got an excellent death, valiant, heroic, everything anyone would expect from a Starfleet Officer. Heading in to a no win scenario in true hero fashion... You idea cheapens that, takes away her sacrifice for no other reason then that you personally didnt care for her death. Lastly, there are more interesting, new stories to tell... About her daughter Sela, the state of the Romulan Empire etc. So theres no need for that sort of rehashing nonsense! Sorry anyway you look at it, your idea is bad!

    4:45 I think that's the incorrect length for the Saber class. Both the Shipyards book and the Eaglemoss magazine for the model have it at 223m. Not to be too much of a nitpicker lol. This is also stated in a number of online sources as well and makes sense since it's a light escort not much bigger than the Defiant. You can even get that approximate length from scaling off the windows. Great video still!👍🖖

    It is not, as those measurements are Beta Canon, where as the measurements of the Class, used in the show, are now just canon as stated here. Dave Blass provided both myself and Pundus (A Friend of mine who worked on the Art for the show) these measurements they used for the class. And subsequently released these stats (With the Artwork) here twitter.com/DaveBlass/status/1641118176183197696?lang=en (Scroll down to find it) So now these stats are Canon since they were used in the show!

    @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics Well, one example would be the Constitution class, which looks completely different both internally and externally. I personally wouldn't have minded a more measured visual update (taking that as my example). If they're planning on slowly moving the look of starships closer to the TOS era that would be cool (I got this idea when I saw the New Jersey, which solidly re-inserts the original Connie into visual canon), but it would seem strange for Starfleet to go backwards technologically. I'm confused by it. Edit: to add that I actually really LIKE the new look, I just can't reconcile it, so depending on what they do I'd just imagine it's an alternate reality or whatever.

    I think in this day and age, using visuals to say something is unfaithful in disingenuous. Also, I dont think it's going backwards to make the show slowly look more TOS. But they way I look at canon, and hopefully this helps, is that what we see on screen is a recreation of events, like watching a documentary recreating events for the audience, rather then watching the actual events. I view it this way because of the word canon, which comes from the creation of the bible, refers more to the events of the bible, rather then that drawings added afterwards. IE, no ones complaining that the Angel depicted in Version 1 is different then the same Angel depicted in Version 40. Basically meaning that we never really see that actual people, technology or events on screen. I really hope that helps!

    @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics That's a good way to look at it. I do enjoy SNW because the writing is brilliant, and as for the visuals I ignore it / don't think about it. I suppose what I'm saying above is a wish that would make it 100% perfect for me, but I enjoy it anyway. Plus I think the music in the show is absolutely superb.

Taking rumors, what people say online, no matter who they are, is not canon. and you can't make them fact because you want too! Therefore the only mistake here is your comment!
